I'm a 35 yr old sox fan, so I grew up watching Pedro dominate. This was such a great video. He truly was unhittable for a few years there.

Anyone else in awe due to the fact that the first 3 pitches were fastballs instead of changeups? They had so much movement!
Pedro's back to back Cy Youngs 1999/2000 were in my opinion the best back to back seasons for any pitcher in baseball history. Especially when they came during the steroid era. Pedro's fastball also ran more than the pitches they were seeing.
After seeing this I wanna see SIM face off against 2008-2011 Tim Lincecum. That fastball and splitter combo was unreal
As someone who had the pleasure of seeing Pedro pitch live over 25 times....I can tell you with utter certainty, I'd have a better chance at hitting the Powerball than a pitch thrown by Pedro.

Of all my favorite pitchers, Pedro was the GOAT. Even in 2004, when he didn't have that electric fastball, he could still get you to fold with that nasty change up. Just watching that pitch could cause physical pain, and I'm a 40 year old Sox fan.

I've grown up in the Boston area and have been a Red Sox fan my whole life. Pedro was the most unhitable pitcher I've seen in a Red Sox uniform, with only Clemens in the 80' and 90's coming close. My favorite pitcher is still Curt Schilling for his bloody sock, complete dominance in 2004.

No machine can replicate the late movement on Pedro’s pitches. Or the drop on that change. 99-00 Pedro was the best 2 seasons I ever seen a pitcher have. The peak of a great career. Keep in mind, he was like 5’11” 175 pounds

Prime Pedro might be the best pitcher to ever live. MF put up a 1.74 ERA in the peak of the steroid era.
I think It’s even harder from the machine. When you can see a wind up or a machine with the arm. You can time it better.
Yes and no. You might be able to get better timing off a live arm, but a big league pitcher can manipulate the ball a lot more than the machine can.

Lived in Boston all my life and Pedro was just absolutely amazing to watch. I don't put much stock in all star games but his performance at the all star game at Fenway is one of my favorite baseball memories.

I know it would be annoying but you should do the trajectory lines. Where one is the expected path and one is the actual path the balls taking. Just two light trails would even work. That way people can see just how big the bends are on pitches that dont drop

I believe I could hit ANY pitcher in any era. I did receive an official invite to 2004 Astros ST in Kissime, Fla. SP/2B. Switch hitter. Left is plus plus power to all fields. Right is all power pull and up the middle. I face faced 100mph left on left and got hits in 4/5 ab with 2 homers. My trick: I dont think or guess or play minf games. I am never intimidated, even when being "brushed back" off the plate. I never get shook. I have a great eye. Strong core, legs, and arms/chest/back better than when I played. If you just react and dont think, your brain will move your hands into position, and you WILL hit.

I wanna see you guys dial in for Greg Maddux circa 1994. You've done some power/speed pitchers. Try one that is about control and finesse.
Maddux would be way better in person idk how a machine would do him justice
@@timboslice8559 Agreed, but with that machine they can program in spin rate and rotation, to mimic his pitches, as well as control where the pitches are going in location. It's probably as close as they can get, and I'd like to see how they'd do against finesse instead of speed.
Guys could get the bat on the ball with Maddux. He only had one 200K season. Getting solid hits was another thing entirely.

I've been watching a lot of 94-95 Maddux recently and he was more of a space alien than I remembered. His two-seamer was horrifying & his stuff was still good enough to have Kris Bryant shook as of a few years ago. I think if Eric took 5 wooden bat ABs against Maddux he'd break at least 2 bats.
