I think the thing is this…. Every sentence is a musical phrase, and the entire thought he expresses is a complete musical piece. Paul said, “John was so musical…” indeed.
John was a good friend of Kenny's, he liked his silly Spike Milligan style humour that's why he gets away with being so honest with John and what he thinks about what he was doing at that time. I'm sure it was good for John to have a friend who speaks honestly to him.
I thought I had heard and seen every bit of John or any ex Beatles footage. This radio interview is a little gem and Kenny Everett was great too. 2 legendary Liverpudlians together. A lucid, off the cuff chat. In the days when people actually had face to face conversations. Lennon’s spirit is forever in his song. His positive influence and message will last as long as the human race has ears.🙏♥️x
Jfc, Kenny was a class of his own, really. I can’t think of anyone else who could’ve done this kind of a personal yet chill interview with Lennon. I wonder if it exists in non-potato quality.
Love Johns voice. At the end of a sentence he says yer know John and kenny are great in interviews love this thanks. Great picture they look. Funny and cute
Im amazed to hear this...strange meeting of moods and minds at the time .... Alas it does show Kenny Everett's zany nature to its detriment here as being very one dimensional. He couldn't relate to John on any other level than whackiness and seems a bit lost bcs that was not John at that moment nor was it the mood of the album here's there to promote and show in interest in..and Kenny couldn't seem to adapt....a lot of other interviewers would have sensed the, depth and feeling of the dialogue to the subject's demeanour
John's accent, the way he spoke, is just mesmerizing....I've always been addicted to John's voice, singing and speaking.

Same. John has one of my favorite voices of all time.
Recorded 3 days before I was born! 😳 Always been obsessed with the Beatles and especially John Lennon.

How amazing is this interview Kenny was just the best and to be able to speak so candid with John is out of this world
One of the better interviews with Lennon I've heard, and I've heard a LOT.

Interesting to hear
Everett asking very serious challenging questions amid the light hearted banter
Yeah its called baiting.
@@adayinthelife5772 no it’s not called baiting, it’s called asking serious questions, John didn’t need to be baited. He would always answer honestly
priceless, bless you both..
This is great - I wonder if someone preserved it in higher quality. Kenny was in good form

Fascinating. And all the better with very littlle from yoko.
That sucks to say
Somebody. ANYBODY. Please remaster this!
He had a lovely voice and that was a great album
So ahead of the time knowing emotions get blocked off and get stored in the body-somatic healing. John knew it
I just listened to this from an alternate source with much less static. It's an excellent interview due to their long relationship.
Do you have a link?
Love Johns voice. At the end of a sentence he says yer know John and kenny are great in interviews love this thanks. Great picture they look. Funny and cute
chilling when he says he wants to die peacefully
Broadcast on my bday woohoo!
The very summit of good times. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It never got better than April 1971
John: "less people the better when writing recording.", "I might be less popular not being a Beatle"
Great interview..
He sounds a lot more positive then in the famous/infamous Rolling Stone interview from December 1970.
This was 1971. So he did this, then rolling stone, not rolling stone then this.
That was funny when they did the laughing policeman
thanks very cool!

4:55 Starts playing Dear Prudence

Pretty thoughtful comment and I think accurate
Sounds like George at 2:14
I think it probally is or its just john's accent
Absolutely.
It’s just Kenny, can you not here he keeps changing his voice and pronouncing words weirdly for comedic effect I presume 😂
What is he playing at 9:04 😲
Time to drive nails into my toes. God, what a relief that brings vs my other life experiences. Horror wife and other magnanimous problems.
But he didn’t write imagine.
Sounds like Russell brand interviewing him
Lennon and Andy Kaufman!
Kenny Everett was, in my opinion, way funnier and wittier than Andy Kaufman.
You sure thats not a pic of Randy Newman??
