- In my opinion the best pilot/display in the Royal International Air Tattoo of 2023. Commander Steven 'Vrieske' De Vries from Kleine Brogel Air Base in Belgian throws his F-16 Falcon around the skies over Fairford from take off.

Yes! And the ‘snaking’ reminded me of riding pillion on a Triumph 650 going way too fast: the frame began snaking under us 😬
I saw this same display earlier this June 2023 at Finland. It definetly is one of the best even if not the best F16 displays what I have seen
Wow that was insane mad mad pilot skills one of the best Viper demo's I've ever seen. Incredible flying what a pilot and what a machine. Those negative G maneuvers were awesome I was in awe every second of this demo. The videography was equally impressive as usual here on this channel, thank you very much for your hard work.

I remember seeing the F-16 for the first time, as a prototype in 1974. I thought it looked so futuristic. I still do.

I was there to see this display. The winds were insane. More than once he looked like he was fighting the wind as much as he was flying the plane.

Wow! Unless my eyes were deceiving me, this pilot was performing some serious negative G maneuvers. This pilot obviously knew the platform inside and out, and how to push it to the limit, at least his limit.
Yup, and negative Gs while upside down is a double whammy.

The pilot flew that thing with so much skill that he made it look like he didn't know what he was doing. Crazy display!
He was so talented today he flew the whole routine around a stormy rain cloud and altered his position constantly to finish the routine I was so impressed
I filmed him for the first five mins or so today but kept on losing him in the viewfinder because of the rain. Fair play to him, he finished the display in the most atrocious conditions

My Dad was an RAF air traffic controller in Germany in the early 60s. I remember him telling a story about a Javelin pilot reporting seeing a Belgian F-104 crossing in front of him upside down at full speed. Turned out he was practising the 'A-bomb toss' where the pilot climbs to near vertical, lets go the bomb then pulls back into a loop and exits at maximum speed at the top of the loop. Crazy Belgians 😂
It still is a standard way for the Belgian F-16 also to drop bombs. They come in very low altitude, pull up 45 degrees and release the bomb just before they rapidly turn away. The bomb takes a bit of extra altitude before going to the target. They still hit as if they would have been dropped in the normal way. But the F-16 is long gone before the bomb hits.

This guy has skills!!!! flew once at Kunsan AB in an F16-D and asked to do some thunderbird maneuvers…most fun you can have with your clothes on! Awesome vid and incredible, fantastic pilot! Also I was stationed at RAF Greenham Common back when it was in full operation…enjoyed every airshow in the UK I could attend! Thanks for sharing this!
I got a ride in an F16 at the Kun as well. It was an End of Tour Ride, with a 35th pilot "1981" and he ended being a T-Bird pilot years later 1986 Capt "Buzz" Masters

Awesome airmanship - that was the friendly pilot that waved on arrivals? - showing what a F16 can do and was designed to do, in marginal wx conditions.
Damn..I’m an American and have never seen an F 16 fly like this…just saw the Air Force Thunderbirds F 16 Demonstration team show today also. America must put restrictions on what the F16 can do over American Air space…this was incredible

Don’t forget the Belgian Air Force flies the F-16A model. This one entered service in 1984.
America has long since already been outskilled by other countries flying American made models.
This video is just one of many proofs out there.
@@victormanuelpolanco922 to be fair, they arent allowed to do a lot at air shows in comparison to other nations. This would be the main reason, not so much skill, simply because barely any of these maneuvers are useful in combat. Hanging out at min. speed and flirting with stall is a guarantee to get shot out of the skies, ya know. 😅
@victormanuelpolanco922 lol. Outskilled? I hardly think so. There is something called "Red Flag" which we Americans host yearly. Look into the results.

Awesome display! I used to think solo demoes were relatively easy. But now I have MSFS, VR and a modest motion platform, flying a Fouga. Even staying above the airport is hard, let alone time your manoeuvres so that the crowd gets to see the good part of them. This display takes serious skill and concentration.

My first thoughts were "Did a Hornet pilot jump in the wrong jet?"
The fact that the plane can be (deliberately) mishandled like that and not go out of control is a remarkable show of pilot skill and aircraft design
