This is how you know no one there watches the Knicks. They are actually asking if Randal will mesh and have chemistry and success when he comes back from injury. Did we not see them go like 13-1 in the month of January when the team was healthy and Randal and Brunson were both cooking.
Randle had trouble with being no 1 option similar to KAT at Wolves. I think that's the Randle people remember.
Now Brunson joined and Randle loved being n.2 option. No trouble since. So no more odd year even year switches. He struggled earlier this season but got back to his best version, only to be out of the season.

Facts
I know these guys dont follow the knicks but in the month of january we went 14-2 with randall, brunson og and everyone minus mitchell robinson. We beat t-wolves, blew out nuggets by over 30 as well as a healthy philly, as well as other teams. So that month is good proof of what we could do fully healthy.
I was looking for this. For all the major market media bs it is very clear that no one on these shows actually watched the Knicks before the playoffs. With Randle during that stretch in January the Knicks had the highest-rated offense in the NBA, and the highest-rated defense in the NBA. However, these guys who hadn't watched a Knicks game since last playoffs still have the same notion of Randle being a ball hog and a poor defender. It's just a lazy and ill-informed take
Also beat the Celtics without Randle in their last reg season match.

I still don't trust Randle in the playoffs he is a ball stopper and bad shot taker. The game slows down and gets messy. It is just like Randle to bail out the defense with a bad shot. Until he proves everyone wrong deep in the playoffs we will not believe him. Don't tell be about January SMH.

Only thing i will say about that is he changed his game up this season. He stopped chucking up so many 3’s and started focusing more on his post up and inside game. We've seen julius play about 15 games with OG on top of the full season and a half of the Nova knicks at full force before he got hurt. He deferred to brunson and still got his 22-25 points a game. It can work they all just gotta buy into the system
I mean, Regular Randle was not good on playoffs.
First playoff run, they didn’t have enough pieces, and it was easier to offset their game plan with Randle as the only legitimate threat. Second time around, he was more hobbled (with the ankle injury that required surgery right after the season was over) than we truly realized. I think we need to see him healthy, with the much better constructed team that we have now, to fairly assess him in the post-season. Everyone’s a lil too hasty with writing bro off

The Knicks went 12-2 (both loses by 4) from the time we got OG until Randle got injured. Also, what about Jalen Brunson's game says it doesn't work with Randle. It worked last year when we went to the 2nd round, and it worked this year until Randle got injured. Having Randle would only make it better for Brunson because now teams can't double him or try to trap him as much.

now the knicks:

2020-21: 4 seed lost to those hawks
2021-22: 11th seed
2022-23: 5 seed out in second round
2023-24: 2 seed and currently in second round
so one team had one great run then a bunch of first round or playin outs
the other has had a steady growth from first round then a hiccup then second round then potentially conference finals

Why isn't anyone saying the Pacers are a fluke? The only reason they are even in the 2nd round is because Giannis and Dame were hurt, and now they are facing a Knicks team with 4 key players out.
