For those where EdgeTX Buddy, where it says, failed to Execute/open on USB device, I made use of, ImpulseRC Driver Fixer Windows App. Let that Run first, then open Buddy, and select required Radio and Firmware. Hope this helps.
Great detailed video!! However, for some reason both my win 10 and win11 PCs will not install the SMT32 driver. It recognizes the radio and will display SMT32 BOOTLOADER in the device manager but says unknown driver and windows update will not find it. So with that, are you able to open up "See how to update a radio using the alternative bootloader method"? when I click on it, it says the video is set to private. Thank you for all you do!!
Hey there, I had the same issue when I clicked on "Find New Device". No SMT32BOOTLOADER was in the option list. Fortunately I found your question here and found Painless360 link to Zadig and downloaded it. It immediately found SMT32BOOTLOADER and I was able to install it. Went back to Edge Buddy and finished the firmware and SD card updates! Thank you guys for doing this. I am 72 years old and struggle with this amazing new high tech stuff.
i get to flash device and i get an error message dsaying cannot cinnect to dfu interface and another window that says Failed to execute 'open' on 'USBDevice': Access denied. any ideas on whats wrong. i folowed your steps as you said.
The updater in the browser needs to access the sd card of the radio. Since the radio is already connected to the computer, the SD card gets a drive assigned to it. The updater needs this drive selected to continue.

ImmersionRC driver fixer or Zadig can help. Video on the other method out on the 18th August...

I don't see telemetry set up for discovery, did they re-locate it
Great video but I can't finish mine my SD card is not finishing the download for some reason It's probably the fact I have an older Chromebook
Is the MT12 supported in EdgeTX Companion yet? I much prefer to set up models in Companion than on my radio.

I've not had that here. The only othwr thing I can think of is to try another USB cable.. Best of luck
