I can't remember the exact SCP number, but they foundation discovered an underground facility, that despite being carbon dated to be over millions of years old, housed technology far more advanced than anything created by man. The AI that operated it, was subtly implied to be Mekhane himself, and he was imprisoning an unknown powerful entity(implied to be Yaldabaoth) in his facility. He lamented not being able to see humanity and how we're doing. He was pretty chill, and the church's belief that he'd turn all of humanity into living machines, was entirely wrong. All he wanted was for humanity to be free to think for themselves, and choose their own path, instead of living as mindless animals like Yaldabaoth wanted.
You know, the more I learn about Mekhane, the less he seems like a bad guy. It's not his fault that his unbelievably powerful body parts are lethal to squishy humans and that violent cultists have started worshipping him. Perhaps his revival would only be beneficial to humanity.
I thought that the grinding sounds that afflict those due to 882 would’ve been due to the iron in their bodies slowly being attracted towards 882. It doesn’t really make any sense, but I thought it would’ve been cool.

Dip a rusty screwdriver in it and it would go SUPER shiny and clean, but within minutes that same screwdriver would not only rust again, it would be rustier than it ever had been. It would go COMPLETELY orange with rust, even if you didn't get it wet.
