The world has always changed since it exist , the way we live now has nothing similar to how we lived 1000 years ago. So please do tell me what is the point of being a conservative in an ever changing world, except wasting everyone’s time (progress wise etc)
Paul Judkins I'm still conservative in many ways, similar to Mahr. But Republican politicians have lost their minds (cue any clip of any Republican Rep or senator from the last 3 years for examples), and, YES, much of the left, the progressive and PC sects, are looney as well, but liberal? Liberal means seeking truth and applying what truth we know. Liberal means fixing things at the input to get a better output. Learning the truth about religion led me to liberalism. You are right about change. Trump brought change. It's changed from some bad, some good to some good, some nightmare. We need improvements. Tech improves all the time. Many of Tech's processes can be applied to politics, or at least to policy.
even if you're telling the truth - statistically very few are like you. Most people become more Conservative and responsible with age. The small few who go the other way (to the left) are mostly long term politicians / public servants who live off the system.
Many older folks view, or used to view, voting as a private matter. I'm gen x and when I was growing up my grandmother told us you never ask someone's age, weight, pay grade or who they voted for. It was considered rude.

I don't change every opinion I've ever formed when I hear you, Bill. I do, however, somethings change my mind on certain issues after hearing another persons perspective.
Couple of absolute titans right here. I'm VERY new to the political discussion side of social media, but I can't help but wonder how much further ahead we could be if there was more of this? I'm a conservative Canadian, Bill is a Liberal American, we couldn't show up at a table being more opposite but he talks honestly. Bill represents the intellect and altruism from the left that every one of us should aspire to, no matter which side we come from or support.
Congratulations on your 1000th show. You and Bill Maher are icons and I am a fan. I love Bill's cynical commentary that he doesn't suffer fools. I hope we can get Trump ousted ASAP. Thank you to both of your for speaking truth to power. I zm a fan of incisive dialogue.
I tried my best to try understanding the point of view of Trump supporters. They ended up confirming that they are either racist, bitter people, or they are awestruck by Trump's personality (the cultists), and a few of them are rich, greedy, selfish people who support him because he ran on a Republican platform that works to make the rich even richer. To conclude, each one of Trump supporters has serious problems when it comes to their moral compass, when they either blatantly support Trump's racism, sexism, bullying, corruption or play mental gymnastics to somehow try to justify it or else plainly deny it. To be honest, I haven't met even a single Trump supporter who is overall a good person.
@wickedsteve: It sounds like your neighbor lives with a lot of fear and it’s easier to manipulate the fearful. Trump has appealed to this nation’s lowest common denominators and he has a hardcore following of those who are fearful of maybe losing [privilege, status, money, jobs, take your pick].
And then I look at the drooling, gibbering, slobbering fools in the background at a Trump MAGA rally, the racists and the neo-Nazis and "the very fine people on both sides," and I honestly think to myself: Nope, that is not a conversation I want to have. "Spock to Enterprise, no sign of intelligent life here."
There's a widely misunderstood fact, though. News anchors - no matter who they are - are glorified bingo callers, with nice hair and a TV-friendly voice. And that's all. The real power lies in the hands of the producers, who you never see: They're the ones who decide whether you lead with the weather, or something serious. Jennings, and others of that stature, often double as a managing editor, or executive news editor, and some of them do exert a measure of executive control. They all have bosses, though, even Jennings. And if Jennings' boss wants to lead with the Kardashians, Jennings is going to lead with the Kardashians - either that or move on, and go back to proper journalism. I always thought that was the real reason Scott Pelley went from anchoring the CBS Evening News back to doing 60 Minutes fulltime. He got tired of being a mannequin on good pay.
Alex S. True. But Jennings, who sadly died rather suddenly about fifteen years ago, never struck me as the type who would allow himself to be used that way. He seemed to know and care about what was important news. Network news was never really all that smart, but now it literally leads with the weather and gives mostly just the headlines before moving on to fluff. Much like Maher said.
I would at one point considered myself a staunch conservative, but after listening to a few of a democratic candidates this year as well as some pundits on TH-cam like Kyle Kulinski and The Hill I’ve realized that true change and caring for the everyday American comes from Liberal Democrats. There are plenty of people out there who just want a good candidate and don’t necessarily care which political tribe they are on.
Thank you! Finally someone else has called out on the so-called news media... like why are you showing me cat videos, this ain’t the gram?! Great job Bill!
I haven't been able to stomach Bill Maher on his show for over 3 years, but this is a good interview. We get to see more of the real Bill Maher and less of the character he plays on TV. It's worth it for his denouncement of TV "news" alone. It's a good reminder of how right he is about a lot of things, and how the things he is tragically wrong about can end up overshadowing the things he is right about for a lot of people.
He talks about these same things on his show all the time. And you kinda made his point, you love that dislikes the media but you have disliked him for the past three years, why? Because he dislikes Trump?
Maher became a total centrist corporate shill. Trump completely short-circuited his brain. I mean, “I’m looking hard at Amy Klobuchar.” 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️. Bill used to be such an important voice in progressive politics. Now he’s totally worthless. Thankfully Michael Moore still knows what’s up!
@David G This is why so few people on the right are willing to speak up when they agree with us on anything … because someone is gonna start grilling them about why they’re not on board 100% rather than using it as an opportunity to start a conversation (maybe on why you both dislike the media, for example).
People get too caught up in one side or the other. Maher is smart, quick, articulate, and engaging.

Nice point
I'm so glad Larry King did this episode with Larry King.
Bill you deserve the 1000th episode with Larry King. Great interview.
For an History major you would have got a first in political science and international relations, but Im sure glad you are a comedian. Thanks for being there.
Larry King looks exactly the same as when he was on the air. That's pretty amazing.
Eric W well, his body has crumbled.
Makeup bro.
he eats embryos
He's still on air, extra oxygen every night
zombies don't age.
Love both of you for keeping it real!
18:44 the accuracy of his predictions are astounding
You can tell Bill likes and respects Larry. How we miss him! My Dad used to listen to his radio show in his truck in the 60's. Such a great companion!
i;m 56 and just getting back to normal is just not good enough ...
Couldn't agree more. However, anything perceived overly radical will face violent opposition.
Dime Bag If that’s the case then so be it. You cannot be afraid of what others will perceive if it’s the right thing to do.
@@ALL_CAPS__ again....the right or wrong is the question ultimately. Ppl will perceive that from their position of belief
Dime Bag True. That’s why we rely on what can be objectively fact. Of course everyone thinks they’re right on a multitude of topics when it fits their beliefs or narrative. Just like morality, it can be subjective on many factors.
@@ALL_CAPS__ well said. And intellectual honesty is rarer than a dog w a tail on its forehead.
I was raised in a politically conservative evangelical family. Reason (sometimes) prevails. I switched.
Rebecca Brockway - and reason is leftwing?
tubularbill not now lol. The left has gone off the deep end. There is an attempted coup going on now. The Mark Zaid tweets and Ambassador Solndads testimony says it all
You’re young, Becca. Once you age, start earning money, paying bills, etc., you’ll switch back. Trump 2020!
Boxcar Willie ok boomer 😂
Larry King is STILL somehow the best doing it.
Enjoyed it thoroughly. Larry was amazing (for his age) & no interruptions made it very nice
I didn’t know Larry King was still around! When he left CNN, I left CNN! I’ve been watching Bill Maher since “Politically Incorrect.”’Now, I watch him every Friday because Bill actually is 1 of the only people on TV that still challenges BOTH republicans & democrats! 👍👏😊
Sad that Larry is gone but he left alot of great work and a great legacy behind. RIP Larry King
THAAAAANK YOU for posting, it’s gonna be a loooong wait til January.....;)!!!
Your memory will be a blessing to the world Larry.... Your loss to our world is profound
Happy anniversary and I think Bill's a credit to America, too. Grew up in democratic home, but lean right, so I don't always agree, but like Mr. King, Bill will tell his friends when he thinks they're wrong rather than go blindly along like so many of us. We are too divided to fix things now and I have no idea what it would take to change that. Thank you for a great show.
Also, big fan of Bill and Larry.
This was a great interview.
Bill Maher your a sweetheart and I love you and I really appreciate what you're doing for all of us a lot of people just don't get it and you're the cat man.
I just LOVE Bill Maher so much....have so much RESPECT for him....he is SO wise, real, and thoughtful...which is how he got so wise...he is very intelligent and “thinks on things”...we need many more like him
Great to see both of America's journalists at the same table. RIP Mr. King. We are a better people for having crossed your path.
If I was the “airfare guy” and Bill asked me what he could do for me since I wasn’t notified about the time change. I would’ve asked “Could you give me VIP tickets to another one of your shows?” Or “can my family and I come to a taping of Real Time?”
And he's a fan right? Loll
Larry was always the King.
"The Mooch" is the only person that worked in Trump's administration that I find is possible to forgive for it..
The guy who supported Jeb and then spent 11 days putting lipstick on the Trump pig??
“I’m the most consistent part of your life” ☠️😂
what marriage is he on now? 5?
When I watch anything featuring Larry King I heave with pride because I am looking at the greatest interviewer that there ever was or will be. Nothing to do with politics, or his misogyny and such, as an interviewer he was the best.
I am not an american and this is the first time i see these gentlemen. I did not think that i'd watch the whole thing.
Yet, i have watched the whole show and enjoyed it a lot !
I agree totally on the idea of not talking politics and religion, since you never know who you hurt.

Bill must be doing something RIGHT, at 62, he looks 42. May be staying single is the recipe...
Meh, no he doens't look 42.
42? 🤣🤣🤣
"Back to normal" is the paradigm that produced Trump. This is terrible advice.
Larry's laugh is so sweet.
Congrats Larry the country is better because of you
that part about Trump saying he's still the president hits right on target nowadays
I hope the Democratic candidates are watching this! Bill Maher is truly a credit to his country whether you like him or not.
We are smart enough to survive. We are simply to.ignorant, no wisdom. No will.
Nah we have the will and the wisdom ... corporate influence on politics kills it ... but thats changing
No team work. Diversity actually sucks
i think the problem is that everyone thinks they know best and it’s evident in these 3 comments lol
@@treefiddytwoo Yes People have their own opinions and beliefs ... thats THE problem according to you?
Sorry, we are NOT smart enough, we still believe in angels and talking bushes that DON'T run for president. And believe THEM over scientific, provable FACTS. We are dead. There truly is NOT chance, EVERY 1%er is looking to finish the species so with their dying breath they can say, "I won"
I never get tired of listening to Bill Maher.
I love Bill Maher. Would love to meet him. So smart, witty and intelligent...pulls no punches ..
Yes Denise. The world is a better place with these 2 guys in it. Amazes me that there is such an army of Ultra-Left Bill-haters out there now pouncing on him every chance they get. They hate people that are left-ish moreso than they hate Trump now. Simply incredible.... i,e. == "If Biden wins nomination, I won't vote!" (or even worse the many that say they'll vote Trump) Extreme case of 'I'm taking my ball and going home'
You are the Great Saniflush !!
If there was no Bill Maher I would intellectually feel alone in the Universe .. sigh. Nice to see Larry ‘host’ such great and natural laughter it’s the healing we need, kacks up indecency ! You’re a very decent Fella Bill sparkle ❇️ on...
When Larry King was born, 1933, even radio was relatively new. He's remarkably sharp even for a person much younger than 86.
I hope the historian gets up there and tells jokes, because he cares about the history of the event...
What event?

Very insightful man Bill is ...and Larry King ... amazing
Great interview guys. This is how it's done.
Brett S. Two intelligent men.
RIP Larry. Already missing you
I was a conservative. I watch your show and now I’m a liberal. Becoming an informed atheist was the trigger, though.
Paul Judkins you just couldn’t leave him alone... what are you conserving exactly??
Wow. Never seen someone who went backwards before. Must have taken a lot of brainwashing from daytime tv and late-night talk shows
even if you're telling the truth - statistically very few are like you. Most people become more Conservative and responsible with age.
The small few who go the other way (to the left) are mostly long term politicians / public servants who live off the system.
Why label yourself at all?
I like Bill Maher! Intelligent and funny but just down to earth! He brings reality to a whole new light!
When the 90 year old friend of mine was asked by her grand nephew who she voted for her answer was voting is a private matter.
We only have two hands so you can only put one over one eye and the other over one ear...
When (young) people who literally dump everything on social media suddenly claim something as private, than you know enough
Many older folks view, or used to view, voting as a private matter. I'm gen x and when I was growing up my grandmother told us you never ask someone's age, weight, pay grade or who they voted for. It was considered rude.
@@MjollTheLioness-o4y Larry King on pretty much every interview: "how old are you?"
"What about the AIRFARE??!!"" - LMAO!!

Don’t say I’m sorry because you’ll usually hear well that’s right you’d better be..... it is now something I should just keep to myself
I didn't know Larry King was alive until this video came up in my recommended
I don't change every opinion I've ever formed when I hear you, Bill. I do, however, somethings change my mind on certain issues after hearing another persons perspective.
Couple of absolute titans right here.
I'm VERY new to the political discussion side of social media, but I can't help but wonder how much further ahead we could be if there was more of this?
I'm a conservative Canadian, Bill is a Liberal American, we couldn't show up at a table being more opposite but he talks honestly.
Bill represents the intellect and altruism from the left that every one of us should aspire to, no matter which side we come from or support.
This is a great interview!
Should have just taken the fan out to dinner, that would have made his day.
Bill is all about truth and telling it how it is. I love that. we need that back in life.
Love bill always 🤓
Don’t try to convince anyone, just try to understand them.
I now understand that my neighbor is a homophobic, intolerant, racist and sexist . That is why he loves Trump.
Sane people don't make crazy people sane.
Crazy people make sane people crazy
So true about the news. I used to like Peter Jennings, he never lead with the weather.
"...when societies get to where we are, it usually has to end before it is reborn". Sadly I think Bill is correct.
This was very enjoyable to watch
Gold interview ✨️
It's a good reminder of how right he is about a lot of things, and how the things he is tragically wrong about can end up overshadowing the things he is right about for a lot of people.
well said
He talks about these same things on his show all the time.
