This is exactly where I am on this journey; thanks so much for doing this. It gives me resolve and courage to try to whatever ends. “I’ve only used it on the Sim” is me. Nervous to take the next step, even though I have extra props, parts, expectation of repairs--gotta just (as other viewers have said-thanks to them, too!) go out and send it!!!
I am getting my first 5" in the next week! So excited for when my nazgul v2 arrives 😊 I think i will be feeling the same as you did when first flying it
No worries. Your video might be bad in your opinion, but it helped me take the final step to get this copter flying. I've been too dumb to understand that there are no screws on the propellers, just these black things (no idea, how they are called in english). And yes, I've been searching for a video, where you can clearly see this part. 🙂 Thanks and have a good time, sir!
Hey Jim, you earned a new sub :) I'm in (i think) the SAME boat as you, based on the time frame of this video, I started venturing into FPV around then, after 4.5 years of flying camera drones. What a difference! In my first order, I got the same Nazgul5V2 4s ( as i wanted it before it went out of stock), and a Mobula7 to zip around my yard with. With hours, upon hours of sim time, plus a dozen flights or more on the whoop (and a TinyHawk2FS), just in the last 2 weeks i was ready for the 5". My hands were shaking like crazy, heart pounding; the noise, the feel - it's almost as if THIS was the real deal quad and the smaller ones were just toys (although, NOT toys). Keep this up, I'm doing the same and really enjoying this hobby. so much so, i just received all of my parts for my first 5" build (with only 5 Naz flights under my belt...) ..i'm hooked!
Looks to me that ur off to a great start my man, but beware, it only gets crazier from here! And by that I mean, like you mentioned before that you didn't understand why some folks have so many different quads... Lol 🤣 well buddy sit back and get ready as this usually awesome hobby takes full control! And before you know it bro, you find urself with over a dozen freestyle/race quads,. Tons of gear, and hardware, and most importantly, a lot of crazy stories that you and your buddies have shared together as u progress, getting better and better each time that you feel the rush of the. Sticks in between your fingers,. Finding even more crazier and , more brazen gaps to pull off aswell as all of the near misses, total fails., And even better still, something that reviewers hard;y ever share, and that's all of the insane horrifying places and time spent looking for M. I. A. Quads or quads that are almost taughting you from, atop a 100 foot or more tree that is almost impossible for any truck with a boom on it to be able to go up and grab it whichl be so worth the $100 bucks it cost me ,, to know how bad;y you missed that quad being in it's rightful place as one of those we come to refer to as Ole Faithful among the wall that is filled with many, many others! Lol so again my man,, welcome to the Dark Side... Lol. Remember all those out there whom may be checking this quick post out,, always remain positive, and try and fly with as many different people as you can,..take my word for it,. I made the mistake of flying solo from jump, and because of it, I have progressed at a snails pace which if u fly with even 1 person, it will help ur flight skills more than you can imagine.
Really enjoyed your video. I'm on a similar journey, have the Nazgul. I don't have a smaller drone ... so I'm using a sim! A few challenges ahead of me ! Thanks for sharing 👍
Sim away! its suuper helpful, i did about 70 hours sim before i flew my nazgul, youll be suprised how much your sim skills transfer to real life. The hardest part is accepting thats its real and there is no bailout or restary, and if you clip a tree you are takin a walk, but get good in the sim and youll be perfectly fine.
Great video! It was cool to go on your journey. I am doing the same thing in a very similar way. I bought a novice 2 as my starter. Almost bought the same radio and goggles as you did. Went with skyzone. I am ready to rip my 6s version I hope tomorrow!!
hand shaking.. check!... sweating... check! 😂 all been there :) i found that the analog system hindered me, i never felt safe flying because of the video signal, i have switched to digital now (caddx - Dji) and man!... its fun flying again :) Much more confident, and because of it, much less crashing, sweating, shaking :)
Hope you just stopped making videos and not stopped flying al together, was sad to find out there's no part 4 . I subt in case you make a part 4 and or soms more! I enjoy the first 3
Great video man! I just flew my first 5 inch a couple weeks ago and was scared to death! It was the diatone roma f5, just ordered the nazgul v2 yesterday and I’m excited for its arrival
my fav tricks so far are power loops, tell you what, doing crazy power loop tricks under objects in the simulator vs. real life it’s more amazing hearing and seeing how it performs. I got the iFlight Nazgul5 v2 too, love it! The rx antennas keep breaking tho, very weird wasn’t expecting that.
Good video. Thinking of getting the Nazgul 5 myself, after the Betafpv advanced starter (which worked for about 5 to 10 batteries and the support really sucks), the DJI for and the GepRC Cinelog 25.
Hi from England JIm. Great video! We have both done pretty much the same thing, but I went straight for the TX16s with a mobilte6 and managed to pick up a second hand pair of fatshart HDO's. Then I went to a 6s Nazgul5 V2, going to a 5 inch from a tiny whoop is crazy isn't it, so much power! I found the velocidrone simulator amazing for practice and getting use to the throttle and handling of a larger drone so would certainly recommend it. I went for ExpressLRS rather than crossfire which is a bit like tracer from TBS, as you get quicker response times and it can still go up to about 30km which is not as far as crossfire but in my opinion worth it for the response time as I will not fly close to that. Would be cool to see your current progress a few months later :)
Xm+ is a little irritating you need someone to hold the bind button down as you power up the xm+ receiver. And you need to start binding on the radio before anything.
Got the Nazgul5 V2 HD version and its so so good. listen do yourself a favor and at some point get the dji goggles. it will blow your mind. srsly go get them. Nice work btw!
Hey man what angle did you set your GoPro to be? And any tips on setting it up? I heard that if you camera angle is below 30 the go pro will catch the props in the footage is this real?
You did well on your picks, although I would have gone with a TBS Tango 2, since you got crossfire.$160 T2 vs $340 TX16S+XF Micro but you may like that bigger form factor and the screen I sure is sweet. I know one thing, Shark Byte Is going to be sick !! Get high and rip balls !!! Height is ur friend
Hi guys, I have this drone and love it, but I have an issue with the camera view. I see the right part of the arm. I am not shure if there is any way how to fix this and it does not matter so much but still it would be nice to face the camera straight. If anyone who has this drone has any idea how to fix that I would really appreciate any help. To add, I want to buy a tiny whoop for some indoor flying and just to get a bit better in FPV because I am still a beginner. I want to buy the Eachine UZ65 I like how it looks and I think it is worth the money. It is simular to Mobula 6 but for some reason Eachine interrest me a bit more. However, I would really like to hear your opinion, just to know I am not from the USA, so I propably have to buy the drone from Banggood and there are not so many of them. Thanks to all for your help.
“With great power comes great responsibility” Send it dude! Keep flying!
Jim, You have done everything right, strait out of the book, hope you enjoy it still late in December 2021.
This is exactly where I am on this journey; thanks so much for doing this. It gives me resolve and courage to try to whatever ends. “I’ve only used it on the Sim” is me. Lol! Hope your fpv is going well, and this is where im getting to in the fpv journey now!
I am getting my first 5" in the next week! So excited for when my nazgul v2 arrives 😊
I think i will be feeling the same as you did when first flying it
Hey, where you been? You should make more videos like these.
Also, your production quality is tops.
No worries. Your video might be bad in your opinion, but it helped me take the final step to get this copter flying. Enjoy it! Laughing at your nervousness because I have been there. Good job
Nice flight man. I know the shaky feeling you are talking about! I'm still that way when I fly my DJI FPV but it breaks easy so there's that. Cheers!
love that INTOTHEAM shirt. I had the same one! Awesome content!
You weren’t kidding about it being a long time… it’s been 10 months!
your backyard being a drone fly spot is pretty sweet

Great video
hand shaking.. check!... sweating... check! 😂 all been there :)

A born talent 👍

Good video. Thinking of getting the Nazgul 5 myself, after the Betafpv advanced starter (which worked for about 5 to 10 batteries and the support really sucks), the DJI for and the GepRC Cinelog 25.
Outstanding video my man! I'm glad I found your channel, new sub here. I look forward to your upcoming content.

Nice Story 👌
Hey Jim, hope you doing good.
Why did you stop? It was a good beginning
Good flight, i just got the digital version of that !

Почему-то у тебя больше нету видео про fpv. Уже год прошёл. Не получилось?
Did you have trouble binding to the transmitter, I have the Jumper t12 pro and xm+ receiver but I'm having trouble getting it to bind
Xm+ is a little irritating you need someone to hold the bind button down as you power up the xm+ receiver. And you need to start binding on the radio before anything.
thanks broo
nice Videos... i whish a Update video... whats now? after half a year later? you still flying?
comparing these fpv's is like :"you and her good friend :D "
Hello guys. It there setup so i Can fly some small Quad and later buy some 5" maybe nazgul5 V2 without buing new googles and controller?
thanks
Subscriber # 200!!!!
Yo you making a part 4 to this?
Did you add some Expo to the thottle in Betaflight? I did this in the DRL sim and it helps a lot with making throttle control easier.
Got the Nazgul5 V2 HD version and its so so good. listen do yourself a favor and at some point get the dji goggles. it will blow your mind. srsly go get them. Nice work btw!
I have them. Are there any analog goggles that are comparable? I'm wondering if I should have gone analov
I went from Geprc Tinygo and Now I have Eachine Novice IV. Iflight Nazgul 5 v2 is next. yes I learn everything from other youtube drone guys.
改天有機會跟你~一起飛~~因為我也是愛好飛行
I would copy the same product list you just shared. New subscriber bro. Please post updates in the future .
How long was it from beginning to this point?

Hello I know this is old but is there anyway you could link this stuff ?
And we never saw him again.

Just ordered this drone. Hasn't arrived yet though. How are you enjoying it now that it's been almost 2 months?
when will be part 4 out ? :P
Wow, nazgul dvr really bad. I have nazgul5 v1 and dvr looks good, no break ups, no colour shifts
is the view through the goggles really that bad? it seems hard to see.
Cool setup. How's the flying going?
Higher Level of high
Hey this is basically me right now lol
do you still have that drone?
When you lose video just disarm if possible, Never punch up, trust me I've lost quads that way.
Why not to use betafpv literadio 2 se?
I do, on the small one
Where do you live?
Drone laws are cracking down hard on us FPV pilots.
Yo! Update?
Also your very first flight you were on the wrong channel and we're on 25mw.
Shush! We’re all just flying on 25mw…😅
70
You're on 25mw and your goggles are probably not on the right channel.
Glad someone else noticed
