  • Hello and welcome
    I finish the welding on the front end and give it a lick of paint, I feel like a milestone has been achieved.
    To celebrate I investigate why the front passenger door central locking is intermittent.
    loads of fun
    Enjoy

    Nice job yet again. Love the proper UK workshop; you know where all the stuff is so who cares? Thank you for posting.

      My workshop would be just fine if it wasn't for those pesky pixies trashing the place all the time

    Very nice job! Makes me want another old RRC, and send it to you to be fixed up. Certainly no way I want to do one again myself!. No something like 10 years on at least I am wiser luckily.

    Just doing my right floor on my soft dash. And the language is about the same as yours every time I find a new hole .what a bugger .

    Solid repairs, as always! What product did you use for the top coat on the RHS inner wing? Cheers

    • @churchhouseclassics
      @churchhouseclassics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. The paint was a brush on 2 pack 4-2-1 body primer supplied by rust.co.uk. Top coat was a solid topcoat sprayed on and covered with a 2k clear coat.

    Respect for all yhe patches but for me a big nogo. I would buy new panels at froggatts and renew all.

      You might say that but if 97% of the original inner wing is good for further service then cut n' butt welded repairs is a cost effective repair. I do work with my customers to ensure that the money they pay for my time is used efficiently 👍 LH inner wing is saveable but with more work than it took for me to replace it. Bearing in mind that I had more work to do on the LH bulkhead

    When I found this site it was the start of depression and a feeling total hopelessness due to total chaos in the workshop.Slowly but surely this site is affecting by well-being can someone out there help me ?

    • @gshort4707

      Richard too, started to suffer depression. That was because of his job. His solution was to change jobs. You need to stop exposing yourself to things that make you ill. Look after yourself mate. Your health is more important than watching TH-cam.

    Panel 49 pounds it took you an hour your hourly rate needs to go up.
    Hang on did you say rain forecast in England you can't be serious that is such a shock.😧😧😧

    • @churchhouseclassics
      @churchhouseclassics  ปีที่แล้ว

      +VAT and delivery and of course I would need to chop that particular panel about quite a bit as they are all wrong. I could easily have lobbed the same amount of time into the repair panel as I did into repair"ing" the section I had.
      Yep it rained here all the way through summer and the ubiquitous hose pipe ban

    She's looking good but my goodness thats a lot of work. That sponge sound insulation stuff that soaks up water and holds it on the floor is a nightmare.

    • @churchhouseclassics
      @churchhouseclassics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly is, and even more so when the factory barely primed the steel under it

    Ugh! The door lock plunger springs; definitely not a piece of piss job.
