I had an apartment in fuengirola for many years and only sold last year as I lost my husband and it seemed the right time. But OOHH!, do I miss it. So clean, so friendly and amazing individual shops. Always somewhere to sit with a coffee or wine and watch the world go by. You would never regret living there 🤗
Thank you for a wonderful video. We also love Fuengirola. We live in Denmark and have an apartment at the end of the paseo in Fuengirola close to the castle. At the end of the year we are moving there for good ❤🎉😊
Hello ! We are new to your channel and just started watching your videos. Great content! Happy 50th!! It only gets better!! You are tempting us with Spain..... Cheers! Monique an Doug😄
Happy to hear they are helpful! We love the Costa del Sol and will be doing more videos on the area. Where are you considering in Italy? Tuscany and Abruzzo are on our list to explore and we will make videos about them. Let us know other areas you'd be interested in.
Before we moved to Malaga, we were considering Italy for some reasons. But Italy rules for retirees from USA are more complicated. Before you applied for retirement visa, you have to provide the 1 year paid contract for housing and etc. But nobody’s going to give you a 100 % sure you will get a retirement visa. Another thing, for example, you have to take test for driving only in Italian language. First a few years you can’t drive SUV and other big cars. Plus, the minimum of money to show for your retirement visa, should be 1,5 amount more than for Spain. We are living in Spain 2 years and we love it ❤😊
@@MsLudam Thank you for sharing all this info! We are going to Italy next month and will be doing a video about it so great to have info like this ahead of time. We love Malaga and are currently editing another video about Benalmadena that we will publish soon. We are doing a deep dive into Spanish income, wealth and inheritance taxes in the video also. After living there for 2 years, have you found the taxes to be burdensome?
@@SeekingParadiseBugs We are living on retirement income and our taxes are minimal, since we pay taxes in the USA. Plus, we have private insurance that covers 99% of our medical expenses.
Thank you so much!.....Very informative and well-researched! Also i think Alison Relocation Services are a practical alternative to consider for anyone considering Fuengirola as his (her) future home. 😊
Happy Five Oh! Seems you two are having a blast. My wife and I are so wanting to return to Spain. This location may be ideal. Looking for the "Goldie Locks zone". Too hot here in SW Florida. Looking for an interesting landing zone to tour Europe for our retirement. Thanks for all the videos.
Thanks! We are enjoying life and have fallen in love with the Costa del Sol area. We also love living in Lisbon, Portugal and may split our time between the 2 areas. We'll be visiting and sharing more videos on the Costa del Sol. Stay tuned!
The color of the water there is stunning! And that park you walked through is so beautiful. Also - where have those dog washes been all my life? Looks like a great city to consider for the long term!
Very good video. Plz is it far to get to the center of city from the ipv hotel? Is there a bus station near hotel? Is there amini fridge in the roomsThankyou.
Previously, only Lisbon and Valencia and Malaga met all 10 of your paradise requirements. So I would like to know if you now prefer Fuengirola over Valencia and Malaga and why? Thanks.
Hi! Although Valencia is a larger city and we like that, the laid back vibe and super friendly people in Malaga stole our hearts. We consider Fuengirola to be the suburbs of Malaga as we have easy access to it and may have better options for a home there for less money. We still love Lisbon also and are scouting areas near here too.
Hi-my 1st video w/you. Where do u currently live. We live in California & are seriously looking for a similar climate & costal lifestyle at a more affordable cost. My name is Diane also, great video! ps-my fiance's name is Bill
Hi Diane! Thanks and we're glad you found our channel. We currently live in Lisbon, Portugal. The climate is wonderful here and there's plenty of coastal areas to choose from. We really love the Costa del Sol of Spain also and are thinking of splitting our time between Lisbon and there. Time will tell. Best of luck and let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! We believe daily living costs in Fuengirola are pretty similar to Lisbon. The real estate prices are much better though.
@@SeekingParadiseBugs we saw your Malaga video right after returning from our Spain trip. We love Malaga (and your video). I give the edge to Malaga because of its core city vibe. BTW. Guiermo, I have Bolivian roots too! My father is from Sucre. Living in Marbella would be awesome too. Again so many choices! My wife wants to see Portugal next. Looking forward to seeing your next videos!!!
It's such a small world. We ran into a Bolivian community in Valencia. It's difficult to find Bolivian restaurants around the world and they had quite a few there. We really love Portugal. Let us know if you have any questions about Portugal and if you come to Lisbon, let us know if you'd like to meet for lunch.
Maybe your teacher should learn you how to pronounce Costa 😂 (not coaster del sol)! Anyway still cool videos of my fave destination I'm hoping to move to 😁
@poweredbyplants269 constructive correcting ...it is "maybe your teacher should of taught you how". I agree, the Costa del Sol is great, I miss my time there.
Thank you for commenting! We did not mean for there to be any confusion. During our visit, we primarily explored the neighborhood of Fuengirola Center as opposed to the neighborhoods of Los Boliches, Torreblanca, etc. We do mention in our video that Fuengirola is a beautiful town located in the Costa del Sol.
Yes, many city centers are kept clean but the neighborhood streets are a problem. We have to constantly watch out for landmines here in Lisbon and did the same when we lived in Guadalajara. Interestingly, it was not nearly as large of an issue in our neighborhood in Virginia, USA.

I'm sorry about your husband 😔 We really enjoyed this town. We are exploring Benalmádena in January, but I think Fuengirola set the bar high 😊
I’m so sorry about your husband 😢. Could you please let me know if water over there is warm in July?
@@anitaklara7428 hi, I couldn’t say the water is really warm, not like Greece or the Caribbean but it certainly isn’t cold lol. Enjoy🤗

We saw 2 bedrooms starting at 800€ but hear prices have been rising. Idealista is a good website to use to give you an idea of prices.

That is an issue in many towns in different countries. Unfortunately, we deal with it in our neighborhood in Lisbon too.
