I find that tanks get counter swapped so often for no reason, the enemy will ignore the rest of the team entirely but make sure there are at least 4 players countering the tank
I want the next tank to be speedy. By that I mean that we have speed-based DPS like Tracer and Genji who need to be constantly moving and moving fast to account for their health with damage, and supports like Juno and Lucio who stick with their team when moving in and out with their speed, but we don’t have any speedy tanks besides Wrecking Ball. Edit: I guess you could count Junker Queen but she feels more lifesteal like Mauga and Reaper than speed. All 3’s strongest mechanic is lifesteal but do have movement moves.
I would really prefer a tank that has more interesting gameplay loops such as winston. Yeah the concept of winston is simple, yet the amount of skill expression you can get on the hero is immense. Even when getting counter swapped, the hero is still effective when played well. You don't even need any dive heroes alongside you in lower ranks, just a good understanding of who to pressure and when to get out.
@ Yeah that was part of what I meant. Every tank generally feels the same… like a tank 😅. And I know that’s the intention but I just feel like a tank with a more individual style would spice up the gameplay like JQ and Juno who have their own things going on.
@technounionrepresentative4274 yeah especially if we get a 6v6 format that sounds scary. Getting constant speed uptime with a rein or jq or even rammatra to an extent sounds scary lol. Especially a speeding orisa sounds absolutely terribly to play against.
@@technounionrepresentative4274 You could just make it so that some things affect others less. Like if Juno’s speed boost counted a significantly less amount for already speedy characters. The same way that Hanzo’s headshots count more for speedy characters.
I don't mean this as flame or anything, but it's only so strong in low ranks because they don't have enough skills to play outside of the character's most basic gameplan. If, instead of swapping back and forth, a low rank player instead played into a counter pick and tried to play to the advantages they get from that, they'd learn. Then they'd climb out of low ranks. So "counter swaps are rampant in low ranks" is basically the ranked system working as intended: you stay at the rank you are until you build skills to climb out.
thats so true! I've recently gotten back into playing tank im currently in Masters 2, but my matches in plat and lower diamond were the worse i've ever played, i've been mostly playing Hog, and the amount of people that start on one hero and keeps swapping in between hog counters is INSANE! Now, ever since i got into Masters i havent had that happen as much to me, most of the time tanks will swap to counter your team, but not counter pick the enemy tank

I tell ppl this after they swap the entire match trying to counter pick me in plat, i've had matches where i started as Hog finished as Hog and the enemy tank played Rein, Orisa, Dva, Mauga, Sigma, you name it... Sometimes is about understanding YOUR pick, not the enemy
Skill will outweigh the character/hero 100% of the time. And fighting against your "counters" is one of the best ways to evolve your skill and understanding how it can help you succeed. Now, if you play Hog and the enemy team swaps to Orisa/Muaga, Mei, Phara, Ana, Life-weaver... Then swapping to Sigma or Rein could be better but it won't enhance your skill on Hog, but it could optimize your team's moral. Play for fun, it's a game. Learn the hero's in quick play. Master them in ranked. Even though quick play is full of try hard lol.
Uh even in higher ranks is a problem and people complain 😂 stop acting like ur different 😂 majority of ranks complain . It's annoying to play a character and someone gets an advantage by just swapping lol . Try playing rein vs orisa , bastion, zen, ana 😂 you can't just play against the counter @@brennanrodriguez122
i swear you can spot (probably) a picture of him in New Junk City. look for the posters and theres both the greenhaired dude and another one that kind of does look like a bulldog! specially the one poster that is in that cylinder thing that has a heal near one of the points.
I don’t know if this is crazy, but if go mauga into hog, I save overdrive, tank the hook on purpose, haHA, and then shred. Works really well, comp dependent.
I really hate the one sided argument on counter swapping. Emongg flames the enemy team for counter swapping against the tank, but the tank went Winston and crushed the Widow first... its so annoying. If I was that Widow and I had to fight a Winston on this map, id of swapped instantly like they did 😒
10:01 that is good to know I did not know that I like when people talk about these things because you never know who doesn’t know certain things Like recently like yesterday yesterday I found out that I can heal with brig by slapping people I had no idea I thought she could only heal that one way by pressing the button only three times I had no idea I can heal by jumping in the fight. That changed my gameplay with her a lot But I only know that because somebody a TH-camr said that and I’m like wait what So my gameplay has just got real even that far reach that she does still heals The only thing is, I don’t know the range of how far the he’ll happen so are we talking They gotta be standing right next to me or are we talking about Lucio range ? How long does it last I mean I have so many questions. But anyway, yeah, definitely keep up with the knowledge. I greatly appreciate it, man.
I feel that panicking part. More like ADHD stupor trying to make a decision, but yeah, sometimes everything happens at once and I get flatbrained and end up doing nothing while trying to decide whether to go for flanker/widow killing my backline, hold/push the frontline, or go for the backline because nobody else will and the game won't progress unless you do
Spectating mauga has made me realise that the gameplay loop is nearly the same compared to rein. Except rein can actually still be fun to play even when you just play corners. For one its much more satisfying to be able to block abilities such as sleepdart or anti nade or block healing or even hit multiple people with a single firestrike while playing at a corner. Also the ultimate is just waay more fun to use and there is skill expression in balancing and maintaining your shield/hp values to be able to do something. But best of all, the rein vs rein is not mind numbingly boring compared to a mauga vs mauga machup.
The funniest thing is when you peel from orisa as a zen and she comes around the corner and presses all her buttons to kill you shift E right click left click. then my team comes an kills her an she has no button to press lol

You should always play what you like. But if you want a specific recommendation, Tracer has some of the most transferable skills to other heroes if you can learn her, and she can be slotted into most teamcomps. She requires good aim, good positioning, cover usage, map knowledge, and is easily punished if you get it wrong. If you get past all of that, you can transfer most accumulated skills to other heroes you want to try.

I'm a rein main gold, I literally only play rein or DVA when i do play tank. It's more fun playing around the counters and watching the enemy team play mystery heros trying to get around me lol, assuming I'm still winning.
Regarding that runny stompy thingy of Mauga, how does one proc it ? or is one just fated to see Mauga proc it, at the end of his, of an oh so very uncontrollable, madly badly Runnings ? And emongg, it would be greatly appreciated, if the gameplay of a torbjörn, of any rank, was reviewed. Sincerely. Null.
all tank players, whenever the enemy tank counter swaps u, what i do is, I just start mirroring them, then when u roll them on the tank they thought was the counter it's even better, rather than continuously countering, just mirror after the first counter, and if they swap again, use your ult and mirror again.

I think the devs would feel some trepidation doing that due to the Backlash that juno/dva had some months ago

Counterswapping in lower ranks is really out of control. Blizz needs to keep softening the hard counters because it's so obnoxious.

You should always play what you like.
