Very tidy and attractice car there. The period correct rear lights look great. Some owners starting putting amber "bug eyed" indicators lamps on the rear and front wings which didn't look good at all. Even worse, the amber "ear" indicators on the roof! Still, they were safer, I suppose. The 3 spoke steering wheel is interesting ... I thought Ford had started putting on the 2 spoke version by then, but I suppose the old Anglia parts bin was not yet empty.❤🎉

I had a few of these back in the day. Since they had no oil filter (!), the first thing is to drain the oil, remove the sump and thoroughly clean it (it will be filthy), then change the oil every 3000 miles (!). One of my Pops had an external oil filter tapped into the oil gallery. Your engine is running poorly - check for a vacuum leak in the pipe to the wiper reservoir - check the compressions. It's likely the valves are leaky and out of adjustment. My best Pop would do a genuine 70mph. Handling is improved by removing a leaf front and back and fitting smaller dia wheels - Beetle wheels will fit. Compression is increased by fitting head from the Eight engine to the Ten engine. I made an inlet manifold to fit two of those Zenith carbs, and the engine will really appreciate a "bunch of bananas) exhaust manifold. The breathing will be improved a bit if the edge of the bore is rounded off adjacent to the valves

This looks like an E93A. I think the 103E was the later Anglia with th3 cut back rear window.

When the car cuts out what’s in the float chamber? I have a 1936 model y and those fuel pumps can be very troublesome with new old stock or new from China diaphragms.

1950s car with a 1930s looking body style.

That's because most of the body is essentially the 1939 Ford Anglia, the bonnet being restyled in 1949.
