Thanks for the update! QUESTION: Where do you get your strawberry plants?? I tried and tried to get Ruby June plants by mid September and failed. (Got a few, 90% died, long story.) Ended up getting Chandler seconds and rejects from another farmer which is better than nothing (most of those lived) but I really want to do better. Lots of places want to send me plants in mid October but that is a month too late here. Could use some connections! (Cumberland Plateau, TN) Thanks!
My operation has used Jungs seeds for over 50yrs for live plants and specifically for berries and we have been happy. They ship berries twice, once in the spring and once in the fall. The key is to make sure to order them before their fall shipping cutoff date. I'd call to inquire as the website is really great to order from, but not great to seek out specific information. If you order now they won't ship them until your growing zone indicates it's safe to do so. They already know this by your shipping address.
I'm a backyard gardener and I've been trying to buy Ruby June strawberries here in N. California but nobody will ship to California, even though we're only 70 miles from Lassen nursery that grow them. Any sources Farmer Dre that will send them to California?
