- Time to share our story! We are Doris & Matthias, an adventurous couple travelling the world and sharing our best outdoor and wildlife experiences. Wildlife Travel is our passion.
Both of us are from the countryside of Austria. We first met at high school. In fact, it took us four years to finally get to know each other on a school trip to Spain. That was more than 10 years ago. Since then, we’re a couple and travelling together.
We started backpacking on a very tight budget, taking three weeks every year to explore South East Asia and South America and we loved everything about it - the culture, the food and trying new sports. Learning how to scuba dive opened this whole new world under the ocean surface to us. So we got more and more excited to explore other places on Earth that offered amazing diving and wildlife experiences off the beaten path.
Back home in Vienna, we both work as brand and digital designers and are voluntary ambulance men. We both enjoy bouldering, lindy hop and ever since we met we’ve been experimenting with new cameras and loved capturing our travel memories.
This year, we left for our biggest journey so far - a wildlife trip around the world. Finally, time to explore truly remote places and search for our favourite animals in their natural habitat. Hearing their breath, their paws on the frozen grass and their captivating songs is something worth every struggle. And definitely something worth protecting.

We love watching Otters in America's National Parks. Bison are a favorite too!

@@HappyTrailsHiking Otters are just the best 😍! Fell in love with them when we first got to see them in the wild in Monterey on the West Coast.
@@bugsandbears I wasnt even really in nature when it happened. Where I live in Kamloops they just built a paved walking path so I figured Id go out for a stroll one night around 7 pm so dark. I was minding my own business walking down the path when I heard rustling and then I saw a big ball of brown fur running beside the path towards me on the other side of the fence along the path. About twenty feet in front of me though the fence ended. As the bear approached the end of the fence and as I pooped my pants I started to slowly back up and as soon as it got to the end of the fence it darted down into the wooded area beside the path. Scared me pretty good mostly because I wasnt expecting it oh and Im a scaredy.lol.

... and after 7 months, have you had the chance to see a bat hawk catching bats already 🦇😅? Concerning big birds, have you heard of - or ever seen - the harpy eagle? It can crush the skull of a monkey with its claws - the most powerful raptor of the rainforest. That would be a sight 😊🦅.

Really well planned video with the footsteps at the start and then the camera following you. I wish I could plan a video but my attention-span is... well, non-existent. I felt like I was watching a nature documentary here. Your wildlife shots are just stunning!
A lot of the footage was not planned at all as part of that movie since all of this was taken in many different countries and locations. We've always wanted to share our story. I still remember your channel intro a couple of months ago. Loved seeing your place and your cat 😍! So happy for you seeing your channel grow! Cheers!

We're big moose fans, but only had a couple of quick encounters on our way from Alaska through Canada so far. Would love to get a closer shot of a big moose bull once! Lot's of caribou though :-) Where in the US do you live? Cheers, Doris & Matthias 🐻

Glad to hear that! You'll love it. Try to pick a sustainable (and of course licensed operator). The whale tourism on Vava'u has been growing a lot and it seems not every operator is sticking to the rules to leave the whales enough rest. On Ha'apai there are less tourists and less operators. Let us know if you have any questions!
You got some amazing videos of the wildlife! Nice job! I always love going out to Yellow Stone National Park in to watch the wolves. You have to use a scope and stay very far away, but it is really cool to see them.
That would be amazing indeed. We loved Yellowstone but were there just a few days before it closes for cars during winter. So we were not lucky with wolves there, but saw some in Denali National Park (Alaska) - highly recommendable!

Love, love, love your channel! My wife and I binge watched it all! If you ever make it near Pennsylvania in the States let me know! There are lots of animals I would love to see in the wild! Raccoons are my favorite, I have only seen one where I live, well alive that is. Most end up along side the road. My number 2 is the red panda! I have taken photos of them at zoos but never in the wild. As for birds, I would love to capture a king fisher!

We've only seen them once: a whole family appeared right next to us in Costa Rica - and vanished a second later into the jungle, no chance for pictures. Red Panda would be amazing. I’ve always wanted to travel to Patagonia to see penguins in the wild.
That's also a big dream of us! We were lucky enough to see the only kind of penguin that lives North of the equator in Galapagos. They're so tiny and we got a very, very curious one!

Hey Ruud & Eva! Aaaaw! Sloths are among our favorites. We've seen our first one in Ecuador in the Amazonian rain forest. He was still small and such a cutie, climbing up a tree to get to his mum. A more accessible spot to see sloths is Costa Rica, where we saw them in Cahuita! Let us know if you have any questions! 😍

As for your introduction you do a great job introducing your channel and what you do, I’ve subscribed because I believe highly in witnessing animals in nature and not in cages.
You should come to New Zealand as we have some of the most uniquely evolved animals in the world, and what impact the humans have done to these animals.

Happy to see that there's a movement around, but we still see people on Instagram riding elephants, taking selfies with tigers and kissing dolphins in captivity. We'd love to see New Zealand once. A road trip around the country is high on our list. I'm sure there are a lot of stories to tell.
