@knockharder3554 He went through BUDS before any of his training. Buds isn't designed to make you succeed. It's literally designed to make the human brain and body quit. It's sole purpose is to find the few men who simply won't quit and send those to training.
Either way, you're correct in saying he fully understands the power in just not quitting, but very, very few of us genuinely understand that, even when we think we do.
When it comes to the suck, we're generally wired to only put up with so much. These Tier 1 and 2 guys are simply wired differently. That's literally what sets them apart from the rest of us.
I used to think they were all built like Gi.I. Joe's, and Taylor actually is, but the majority of Seal and Delta guys are just normal dudes, they just possess an insane ability to embrace the suck and still be able to remain calm and collected. The one thing they generally all have in common is above average intelligence. I really enjoy listening to them on podcasts because they are all extremely intelligent and capable human beings. They just chose to deal death as a profession, but they were going to be the best of their field no matter what they chose to do. Their training 100% helps, but these dudes are special before they ever signed the dotted lines.
Regardless, we could all learn a ton from them, but only hope to obtain a fraction of their successes.
We're just fortunate they fight for our teams.

My hard rest is coming right now at 50 years old with three little girls and a beautiful wife, I have a very successful business yet sabotage myself with alcohol every night. It stopped tonight. No more. I’m going to be free, and I will live to my potential and stop stacking karmic debt. I’ve followed this dude from day one on you tube but never knew the full story. This was a moving powerful interview. Thanks for your story. 3 weeks later: thank you everyone for all the comments and support. It’s good to know that there are such wonderful people out there that share their own experience and wisdom. I am doing leaps and bounds better, but I CAN and WILL do more. Good luck to you. Don’t give up. Just remember quitting is about telling yourself “I CAN have this, but I don’t need it. Or I CAN have this, but I don’t want it”. When you tell yourself “I CANT have this” it sends messages to our brain that we need it… The addiction plays tricks on our minds. When you realize that you can start to take control of your life.

Doc said I had a couple months to go if I kept it up after my 3rd hospitalization and IV drip... Anxiety medication allowed me to finally quit abusing it so bad and I can actually drink responsibly now. Have a couple beers and go home and go to bed.... Lifechanging meds helped me survive it.

What do you notice about his speech vs most of the people you see/hear speaking? He is so articulate that he has no ums, ahs, likes, stutters, breaks or nervous disconnections at all. He has zero mental hiccups in between his brain and his voice. How rare is that today? Granted, he will make some pauses to regather his thoughts, but his flow of speech is so powerful compared to every other random person who are so hard to listen to. It helps make him interesting. It is a lost art.

Hi, I’m a woman in her 20s and I’m training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL.
What advice would you give for women that want to be SEALs? If you had to go to BUD/S again, how would you prepare differently? What books or workout programs would you recommend?
Most female SEAL candidates struggle with carrying the boats and logs, doing pull ups, having grip strength and completing the “Dirty Name” on the obstacle course. Also, a lot of female SEAL candidates break their legs or develop stress fractures.
A woman made it to day 4 of BUD/S first phase recently but she quit on day 4. That’s the farthest a woman has made it. Her BUD/S classmates told me that her class hated her and ran her out from under the boat because she was a boat ducker. Nine women have entered the SEAL pipeline since 2016.

@@Anonymous18817 I'm not a SEAL but I am in the military and I have met guys who've made it through various special operations pipelines. I also have a sister who went to West Point, so I understand the troubles that women in the military go through. My advice for you would be to train for an Ironman. A lot of people neglect endurance training in favor of lifting weights, but 90% of what a warrior does in combat and in training is endurance related. Also, if you can complete an Ironman with a decent time, you must be pretty tough, which is probably the most important thing for special operations. Also, there are workout programs designed for those looking to enter special operations. I've good things about the 18A fitness program. There's not a whole lot you can do to prevent bone fractures or breaks. For the most part, your skeleton is what it is. My sister has dealt with various injuries throughout her time in the Army, it's really just a bridge you cross when you get there. I hope this was helpful and good luck. Even if you don't make it, any woman with the balls to attempt to become a SEAL has my respect. God bless.

Then when it came time for him to evacuate he told them no. They told him that he was surrounded and needed to get out. He responded "I've got them right where I want them. Surrounded from the inside"
The dude took R&R and snuck off to fight alongside other soldiers.

And your aggression works well for you. But being an average civilian, I had to watch this in two separate sittings. I appreciate your transparency with your history so that we can learn from it. I also appreciate what you have sacrificed for this country and it's population. Prayers for continued peace and prosperity to you.

Even though I’m successful in so many faucets of my work and private life, I am wasting so much God given opportunity. I’m sick of cutting myself short!! I finally figured it out in my mid to late 30s. It was Buddhism, Taoism and eastern philosophy that saved my life. Here I am 16 years later and when I deviate from the path, I suffer. Thank goodness I never go to far off the path now. I have to stick with my practice and constantly strive to refine myself and let go of even minor addictions and personality flaws.

Once you perfect something or reach your goal it's never enough. You drop it like a bad habit, lose interest, and move onto the next thing. This guy's story is super interesting, but he's still got a long ways to go. He's still chasing ego and searching for validation through respect. He's still reliant on the way other people see him, whether he realizes it or not. He's setting himself up to crash and burn yet again. He'll have a number of awakenings and realizations as the years go by. If he makes it to 60-65 years old, he'll probably really find what he's looking for at that point. But he's gotta slow down and stop moving at 100mph all the time. Each step of the process, he gets better and better, but he's still not even close to being where he wants to be at this time. Slow the pace man.

He's betrayed every group he has ever been a part of and has only shown commitment to propping up himself. He told his entire story but showed no growth. He criticizes regret so he can live guilt free. Just a package of Winstrol and Adderall on camera and from the comments I'm reading it looks like ya'll bought into it. I believe in second chances. Even third chances. This guy had like SIX....that he talked about. There are a lot of Americans who would never be able to get a non-dishwashing job if they did half the things he did.

I gave myself 2 nights to watch and take in this video. You have done things and been places that not many men will ever do or see. First - you are my neighbor, I have lived in the San Diego area since 1982 and currently live 40 minutes south of your Murrieta home. Like I said, you are my neighbor. I have not seen any of your TH-cam video's other than this one, and I am impressed. I've known men like you over the years. My first husband was a crazy New York version of you, and now he's dead. But you would understand that. Reading some of the messages below you are striking a cord with others that are at low points in their lives, and that is not taking into consideration the people who don't post comments - it seems as if you have found your calling now. Stay sober Taylor, don't forget your goals.

A self centered attitude coupled with impulsiveness is a poor approach to military service anywhere. People whose primarily loyalty is to themselves and not to their brothers and sisters in arms will have a very difficult time despite their talents. The system in any military service globally will chew people like this up and spit them out. Lots of squandered talent here.
