U think that Mattel would make all the new trackmaster 2 engines compatible with the older track systems especially tomy cause almost everybody that has collected the tomy/trackmaster kept the tomy track. Now I'm gonna refrence leokimvideo back in the old day all you needed was one purchase of a tomy set to have a full running railway now u have to buy many small sets to have a railway
I love Diesel but I'm not a fan of the smiling assassin look. Maybe he's like the Joker in Batman where the smile is a evil smile. Do you get rage from viewers about showing big name battery brands? I had some really angry viewers and that led me to cover up the brand names or use no name Aldi batteries, that is until I found out the Aldi batteries were not much chop. That flywheel mod looked interesting. I will have to find that video. You have done a great job getting TM2 to work well on the classic Tomy track. That extra speed really makes a difference.
leokimvideo Hi Leo, I much prefer the old angrier face that's for sure hehe, in regards to the batteries I use either brand and have never had any issues, I found the aldi ones leak after a while which could be disastrous for these toys if they are forgotten and stored. I have found the best batteries for these trains are the ones that start with a D and end in ultra but I will buy whatever is on special as they all come out of my own pockets and like to use fresh batteries for each review. Yes the speed of the TM2 is nice and I have come to like the simplicity of the direct drive gearing.
Ucwepn Whats weird about Diesel is in the newsagency Thomas books they sell today Diesel is seen with the old style angry face, dare say these books are made up from old artwork from less happy times. I always saw Diesel and the real nasty character, sneaky, oily, gritty and always having a reality check on the pop and squeak of Thomas and Percy. I also agree the the copper top batteries are the best. I buy them at costco and in bulk they are a good deal. From the toys that I see coming in from the charity shop the worst leakers seem to be Performer (kmart) batteries. But they are certainly not the only toy destroyer. There is always that saying, buy cheap buy twice..sure sometimes you get lucky but I have found that sometimes the more expensive brands are better. Problem is not everyone can indulge getting the top shelf gear. I can buy 15 KMart blenders to 1 Blendtec blender, it's madness when you think of it like this.

I hear ya on the charity shops, it's getting bad I feel the need to rescue toys and books but what i am going to do with them all? lol I am trying to restrict myself haha

Great video! What will be interesting is you cut the fake side rods off of 2014 Diesel and use James' chassis. And there! Moving side rod 2014 Diesel. Engines have the same chassis is quite boring. At least the Plarail engines are available on eBay. So that's one good thing. I give TrackMaster Revolution Diesel a 7/10. He's not so "Revolutionary". Get it? 2014 Diesel in the TrackMaster Revolution and thinks he's revolutionary when he's not because of non-moving side rods and unpainted buffers. XD P.S. I spotted a TrackMaster Bill and Ben with red wheels. I like that. :)
Hey Ucwepn I got this train last week and I thought lets change the motor so the new tomy plarail gordon which I have taken the motor out of and I shoved it in diesel and now he is even faster than a trackmaster 2 with light dash motor.
which Thomas modification is that? I have no plans after #7 to do any more customs/mods videos. But I might do some customs here and there in the future just no more dedicated vids.
Well at least with the one size fits all system, they really couldn't screw up the look of diesel to bad. But side rods would have made him a worthy purchase.
Awesome video! I'm sorry to say this but the 2014 Trackmaster Diesel is my least favourite model. It's lacks a bit of detailing and has the wrong scale of height. Another thing I wanted to say was can you please buy the Tomy/ Trackmaster 2006 motorised Rocky so you could put it side by side with the Plarail non-motorised Rocky and say your thoughts about it :)

Hey Ucwepn I got this train last week and I thought lets change the motor so the new tomy plarail gordon which I have taken the motor out of and I shoved it in diesel and now he is even faster than a trackmaster 2 with light dash motor.
