I am using a standard Telecaster, nothing special (no pun intended) The amp is a vox AC15 and the setting i had to tweak them for a while but I always change them. sorry for being vague but I dont have a regular setting. try to keep the treble up though so it sounds crunchy.
Props on finding a tuning that works. This song is a nightmare to learn by ear unless one is willing to completely change the tuning, and as you demonstrated, even rely on hacks to keep the weird strings in. Bravo!

Is it tuned higher than usual? I got my string in high tension,im affraid it will affect the neck to be bent..any clue? Btw what brand string do you use?what gauge? Do you use clean channel from your amp to produce the sound from intro till reff?the sound is very similar with the original,no doubt about it with my ear..haha Sorry for too many question.. Wow! tough tune and you nailed it. Even the change -ups were smooth. MEW is one of the most difficult bands to cover.
