    Last year this time, I was 172 lbs and I can’t even do 2 pull ups. But I made a new year resolution to get in shape and to learn muscle up. After 12 months of grind, I went from zero to hitting 8 strict muscle ups. Here's my journey. Enjoy the video and let me know your thoughts!

    I’ll never forget my first muscle up. I got home from an intense leg day. I went to my pull up bar in my back yard. As a joke I attempted it. ( I had been able to do it with a resistance band) to my surprise, I did it with out the band. ( sloppy form, but still got over the bar). I can not describe the amount of joy that came to me. Been doing pull ups for about a year and I finally got to see the view above the bar. It happened on 420 2019 lolz. 😂

    It took me one year to learn the muscle up. It cost time to learn. One tip from me is make sure you have a good warming up and stop training if you feel a annoying pain in your shoulders. Because you’re wil get injured if you keep going. So Take your time.

    • @grtf47
      @grtf47 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea I have that pain every week. I recover a few days, train hard and it comes back. So annoying otherwise I would train every day

    I am pretty strong at pulling, but not as much as I could be without my shoulder injury, I also weigh 84 kg.
    Even if I theoretically heal to the point of no injury or movement restriction at all, it still took a heavy price of the time I lost gains and could train and progress more, as for now it’s around a year time.
    I might do surgery I might not, idk yet.
    But what I do know is that I can kinda progress in pulling pretty good even with the injury, but in pushing it’s pretty much a setback, especially for things overhead, weather if I do calisthenics or weightlifting.

    Hi I quickly get tendinites at elbows which will last for weeks whilst training reasonably on pull ups. So it does really slow my progression. I have a correct diet and correct sleep. I understand my tendons will always adapt slower than my muscles, so I guess I shall not be the only one having (had) to go through that problem. Any useful advice ? I could train a bit and stop before getting a tendinite but I will stay in the 2-3 reps range I fear

      youhou2000youhou the same thing happened to me too.i assume ur having golfers elbow, do stretch your wrist flexors a lot and avoid doing pull exercises that require too much grip strength. Experiment different grips, neutral may be easier for you

    Guys, a little advice, start from the top, if you still think it tires you up just start from a flip to get on the top of the bar, that's how I learned.
