I've rent a set of these to try out, I agree with you that it is soft wide open. But this is not the main issue, I find the colour a bit unnatural when grading, not sure if you find it the same way. The standard Canon EF primes look much better aside from the function and not much more expensive used, it is a bit of pity.

I don´t know what do you have or what do you intend to use it for. Minimal distance to focus is 30cm so you can use it for almost everything. Just do not forget that it is 100% manual! No auto-focus! I’m shopping around for Cine lenses that would be compatible with the dji LiDAR system, it’s determined by if the lens has a stop on the focus wheel rather than it just rotating for infinity. It depends on what you want to do and remember - no auto-focus! For me - I would choose the 35, 50 or 85 (depending on what shots you want) and 135. Or the 14 instead of one of those if you want large shots. Cheers from Portugal!
"they are becoming discontinued as the new versions (mark II) is released " : is only the humidity protection worth to buy the mark II series, or the former DSLR basic set (your demo) is enough protected from weather humidity/water or dust ?

Sir, if i go with 35mm only, is it covers both wide and closeups, since my budget is tight for low budget film making

I don´t use them in humid situations mate so I cannot say...
