    Nah, totally fine. The case is not gold or any other softer material. The hardness of the case will be the same or higher than the bars depending on what quality bars are used.
    During use the band is not mainly loose either way.
    It's a mounting point and not a fan axle, which will not be the first thing to go on the watch. Not a real worry

    The same thing can happen using oem seiko fat boy spring bars. It depends on how much force is being exerted on the spring bars and lugs.

    You're right I just realized the spring bars on my Hirsch Pure Caoutchouc bands are too small to fit my Seiko divers properly and are destroying my lug holes. And the Hirsch strap holes won't accomodate the fatboy spring bars that these watches are designed for either. Great upload!

    Interesting. Reminds me that Citizen rubber straps contain metal sleeves which not only prevent the spring bars from bending under tension but also reduce friction.

    You are a good, good man!!! Thank you! I found this at 12 midnight and I was so worried I had to go and measure the spring bars that came with my Crafter Blue straps that I replaced my OEM straps with. THANK GOD 1.0m ish which means they were definitely 1.1 or rather stated they are the proper size because I compared them with my OEM spring bars. I even checked my Citizen Promaster bars those are also around 1.1mm this is such good content I’ll share with all my fellow enthusiasts who missed this….. like me 😢 BEST!!!

    I was lucky to purchase a bunch of toxic natos/UTE watch co. slim spring bars with fat tips. Unfortunately that brand is gone now. I replace the spring bars with every watch band before putting them on my skx

    Thanks for looking out for us QC! I have yet to get a rubber strap for my new SBDC051 - however I did obtain a Seiko mesh, 2 piece strap for it and it looks great! (Both use the fat boy, no worries). Love the vids - especially your Seiko and vintage Hamilton videos! Those are my go-to's

    Does this apply to bracelets from strapcode/uncle seiko? I have drilled lugs on my seiko's but i dont see any movement of the tip inside the lugs. Larry from Uncle explained to me that thier fat boy springbars with 0.8 tips don't do damage to the lug holes because the tip of the springbars doesn't move.

    • @QuartzCrisis
      @QuartzCrisis  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting. I’ve only tested it with the strap. So if you have drilled lugs then you should be able to see the gap showing that 0.8 tip doesn’t fully fill the hole.

    • @rychartz
      @rychartz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can see that that 0.8 tip doesn't fully fill the hol. It's position is right in the middle of the hole and the tip doesn't touch the sides of the hole not even when you move the endlinks.

    Do the Uncle Seiko 2.5mm spring bars that comes witn those straps 1.1 mm at the tip?

    • @QuartzCrisis
      @QuartzCrisis  ปีที่แล้ว

      I see he sells Fat Boy springbars and regular spring bars... so I'm not sure what you would get. I'd say ask him if the listing doesn't specify the size of the tip

    What about the seiko fatboy 2.5mm spring bars if I wanted to use them on a Orient watch as the thinner spring bars are too thin for the seiko strap is it ok to use thicker spring bars then what came with the strap.

    • @QuartzCrisis
      @QuartzCrisis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I don't know about Orient. Hopefully other viewers will comment.

      @@QuartzCrisis the thinner spring bars will fit on the watch but when you want to take the strap off its very difficult and I have had too break one spring bar off each time I took the watch strap off. I was wondering if using a thicker spring bar would fix this issue.

    Hey there, thanks so much for this vid as I was planning on ordering a strap from one of these companies and now I won’t be. Do you know if Uncle Seiko’s “fat bars” that come with the Uncle Tropic strap might be a safer/better choice? Thanks again

    • @QuartzCrisis
