If you see from the book they basically mean the same in sedition act of 1870, a person criticizing the British government could be arrested without due trail and rowlatt act allowed british government to imprison people without due trail

The only difference is that in sedition Act of 1920 : If a person is *protesting*against them...then they can arrest without due trial. Whereas , in Rowellet act : a person can be arrested without due trial... So , it basically means that that Sedition act was put so to stop Indians from being Frank and brave. but , in Rowellet this act was put in all means ie. not just because they are protesting Britishers but also by all means to make them voiceless and powerless they had putted that act ...In both the acts there is a lil difference but matters really complex when to go deep on it..
