Hip replacement surgery for avascular necrosis(AVN) is a very successful treatment. AVN can happen due to many causes like fracture neck femur like in this case. After screw fixation surgery for his fracture, the femoral head developed AVN & which lead to pain while doing daily activities. This army personnel needed to go back to the intense level of activity in minimum downtime. if first surgery is performed well then it may last upto 25-30 years & revisions are relatively more bone conserving as we are thinking about your revision at the time of first replacement
