The additional water will diminish the cement strength on your grout coat , the same burnished result could be got by useing a finer sand/dust like marble at the same ratio to cement as the sand used in the base coat, filling your voids and sanding , the burn is only possible if an uneven coat is present they are the high points your trowel compresses ..
@@craigsutherland2104 I'm thinking the same....What did you use for base board> I already bought Dense Shield but am thinking Durock might be more compatible....
do you have a product with no sand in it, just a marble/silica flour? Used to use Bomanite/QC microtoppings back early 00's and was a great material. Looking for similar. Ardex SD-M is close but way overpriced...Just need a true microcement product with no sand

You can also see it tearing from being over watered
That looks like it would be alot of fun, must be for countertops only, I couldn't imagine doing this on a 3000 sf floor 👍
We like to trowel the first one by hand with a few guys
Next finish coats with a squeegee work amazing
Wont all that additional water spray dilute integral color? Makes it impossible to replicate if doing a large floor?
finished/dried pic? vid?
Has anyone done this for a concrete floor finish just wondering what the end result would be like as I'm thinking of doing it myself.
This system is great on floors and I'm currently applying to a bathroom on the walls
@@craigsutherland2104 ah awsome thanks for the reply!

I did same thing on a basement floor and then stained and sealed it. Smooth burnished look.
@@danielsestina6457 which sealer(s) did you use and how it handle stains?
Sorry but adding water is a big mistake.

Elite Crete has a micro with no sand and leaves alot of movement without trying this hard lol
SD-M is too smooth to the point it looks fake (wall application)
Which integral color did you use on this?
It would take a month to do a house like that
