He is moving slowly , like we all do as we age. We had to have our Lab ",cross the rainbow bridge" a couple years ago. We still miss her, they are a part of your heart,!!!

Thinking of you both. It is very hard when your much loved pet is ill. I lost my weimaraner, Wilhiem in October and I even moved my bedroom downstairs for the last few months so we could be together, and my husband could sleep soundly knowing he was with me. I manage better if my sleep is broken. We both loved Wilhiem so much. Luckily our vet is much less brutal. He was always comfortable. We even managed to take him on his last caravan holiday. He loved being on holiday in the caravan. His tail never stopped wagging. Take care. Wendy

I live in Alabama USA. Allergy dog food here is usually lamb and rice or chicken and rice. Dog food is costly, so we purchase rice, then meat on sale(sometimes turkey). I cook and mix together. My dogs also love vegetables , green beans broccoli, carrots. Sometime I add these. If you choose to try, I hope it helps Sheffield. He is a very good boy! This food should help with skin allergy, itching, and digestive problems. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Sorry for Sheffields medical problem .. Proud of you for standing by during surgery .. Vet bills here are horrible.. Recently I we took one of our kittens to the veterinary clinic for tumor .. Cost us $ 1,225 .00 .. “ LITTLE ONE “ died with in a week ..!! It hurts Very Bad .. She was such a Loving kitty .. GOOD LUCK with Sheffield .!! 👍🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸

We have a beagle that will be 15 in October. She has several growths called lipomas. Hers seem to be non-cancerous. Therefore, we will not remove them. At her age, we do not want to put her through a lot of stress. I now feed her mostly human food. Good food that we would eat mixed in with some dog food. She is doing very well and sees the vet several times a year. She takes some medicine for arthritic pain and for urinary incontinence which works well! She gets a little melatonin at night which helps her to sleep soundly. Old dogs sometimes have trouble sleeping; just like humans. We cater to her because we love her. Hills Science Diet might be something to consider. They have many varieties and our vet recommends it. Good health, Sheffie, we all love you.!♥

When my dog got old she had trouble with the food so I started making scrambled eggs and wow...it helped enormously... Good luck.

The word youre maybe looking for is tumour? Some can be cancer but some not. Maybe try cooking his food from cheaper cuts of meat and fish, addd brown rice, potatoes, quinoa, beans and then some chopped up vegetables , mix it all up and keep in refrigerator.
Our dogs just refuse to eat any dog food no matter how expensive so we started making their food and now they are in good health and happy. 👍🏼🤞🙋🏼♀️

I love Sheffield so very much! ❤He is the sweetest most handsome and polite guy I’ve ever seen. I’m sorry that he had to have surgery, but I hope that it will heal quickly and that he won’t be in too much pain. Thank you for sharing him with the world. I have a black lab mix/not a purebred like Sheffie. His name is Carl. Every spring, he gets skin allergies I don’t know if it is from the grass or or plants. Hi Guys! My daughter has dogs but can't afford to😂b uy them dogfood so she goes to the local butcher and buys for practically free some chicken livers, heart and stomach and meat that are not for human consumption any more. She cooks it up with rice and feeds them with it. They are of course really happy with it and are doing great. Maybe Sheffy would be much happier and healthier with this type of plan. Poor Sheffield, I hope he makes a full recovery. I think the warts you are referring to maybe it is a benign growth, sebaceous Adenoma ( they look like warts). My dog had ( maltipoo) them as she got older. I had couple of bigger ones removed. Here in the US the vet usually will send biopsy/growth out to see if it is cancerous ( Adenoma I think they are benign).
As dogs get older some will have food digestive problem and sensitivity ( mine did). If you are having a hard time getting dog food for Mr. Sheffield why not cook for him. You can do what some have suggested in the comments. It will be better for him and cheaper for you. You can boil meat, and mix it with sweet potatoe, carrots, green beans, or rice. Broccoli use to be hard on one of my dogs( it made her very gassy). Make sure not to give onions, grapes, garlic ( including in the seasonings) they are toxic to dogs. Maybe talk to your vet and google on what to cook for him.
I hope Mr. Sheffield feels better soon. He looked like he was having a hard time walking. Maybe keep his walks short and close to home. The E collar could be throwing him off when using the steps. Good luck. Sorry for the long message.

How much does veterinarian care cost?
Lipoma is likely what the "wart" was. Very common in older dogs (and humans as well). They are benign but can become quite large.

Sorry that Sheffie is having problems with his skin and itching. Talk to his veterinarian and ask about giving him 'Lecithin', which is excellent for treating itching and skin irritations. Lecithin is a natural substance and is a mixture of fats essential for cellular health in humans and animals. It's found in many foods, especially Eggs. There are several types of Lecithin supplements. Some are made from Soy, or Sunflowers, but the BEST is from Egg Yolks. If you can't find Lecithin powder, or tablets in the store, or if it's too expensive, just feed Sheffie one (1) cooked, or hardboiled egg each day and his skin condition will likely improve.
Also, I think the 'warts' you were referring to that were removed from Sheffie's head were probably 'Sebaceous Cysts', which usually are not dangerous and are common in older Labradors. Good Luck with Sheffie, he is a Beautiful Boy!♥️

My mother in law use to cook the chicken skins, necks livers a nd so on an serve it with rice for the dogs. I would like to help you out with his food. Maybe next month I can. I'm widowed now but I would like to help. Pets are a great comfort. I lost my husband and three months later I lost my dog both to cancer. I now have my mom's little weenie dog. Why does Sheffield have to eat dog food?
There may be a grain allergy in the dog food. The skin and walking problem can also be a lack of Omega 3. Maybe a bland diet of salmon, eggs, (sometimes turkey, chicken) rice, green beans and blueberries. (Blueberries for brain health). It is good to supplement with a dog vitamin (also liquid or powder) to add in food for missing minerals.
Glucosamine Chondroitin with MSM and Omega 3 made for dogs joint health is better walking for senior dogs.

when you love someone, you love them all. That is how it is to love your pet, warts are killed by applying baking soda mixed with olive oil. It will take weeks for cure, but God will bless you as you pray for healing power from him. We live in a realm of angels that we can not see Go for walks near the church and pray out load for him and ask for help from heaven for this..
