I love the Pork and Pickle! It’s a great dirt pedal for those of us who aren’t metal heads but need some grind every now and then. I was the touring bassist for the Miracles for a few years and didn’t have much need for pedals but since then I’ve been in quite a few situations where it’s came in very handy! Great pedal and a mainstay on my board.

For me, the Line 6 HX Stomp has been the tone and effects solution! 😎

My personal pedalboard-- the pedals look like they’ve never been touched and all happen to be mxr.

You must mean Dunlop (Since there is a Way Huge pedal on their too). Which is understandable since they are literally in the Dunlop HQ in this video. And Darryl Anders worked with Dunlop for like 13 years.

"You don't want your dynamics to go away" that is what a compressor DOES. I realize I am in the minority; I think the demo without compression sounded better. What they call "tighter" just seems "homonigized" to me.

I completely agree, unless I’m playing in a rock mix. The compressor, somehow, makes my sound more audible without being louder. Like this man said,” the compressor should be felt, if it’s heard, it’s too much”.

OMG I’ve tried several flat wounds and always went back to rounds mainly because of the E and A being dull and low sustain, but never occurred to me that the issue was lack of consistency to the other strings. I’m going to try the Dunlops.

I actually like the board - really neat and looks like with power built in for all pedals?

While Dunlop, especially MXR have their place on a bass baord, you cannot build the ultimate bass board with only one company imo

definitely depends on what youre going for. i know of people who have only boss pedal builds.

Nice tight board. In recent years I've discovered I don't really need too many fx and have gone for a more minimalist approach. Preamp, compressor, octave and eq, that's it. Focus on playing and let your hands dictate the tone.

Lol all I need is my amp and bass

What is the size dimensions of the pedalboard ?

his playing through the octave really doesn't track well - not sure whether its a technique thing or a signal thing, I have an OC3 which is essentially the same thing. Cool demos other than that, I'm very tempted by the compressor/envelope.

3:33 I have the MXR Bass DI and when using the distortion channel the bottom COMPLETELY falls out.

You gotta use the blend. Bring back in the clean signal so your bottom end is still there.

That Jazz style bass is a Mike Lull custom if I'm not mistaken?

    • @lavadoraautomatica1
      @lavadoraautomatica1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I think he uses stenback basses actually. The mike lull that I’ve played have a more pointy headstock.

It says Modern Vintage right on the headstock of the Jazz Bass.

Nice sounding pedals. What is the short scale bass Darryl Anders is playing at the end of the video?

I know its 9 months since you made this comment, but that bass is a Serek Sacramento Bass.

Interviewer the male with the long hair keeps interrupting.. really detracts. The bass player had so much knowledge to impart .. if the interviewer would have just shut up.

Somehow I doubt a pedal board with 5 pedals is "THE ULTIMATE!!!"

This pedalboard is fine and all, and informative, but is it really the ULTIMATE pedalboard? Forever? Of all time???!? Four pedals? I dunno. I’d say those are strong words. Haha.
