It just so happens that I was out on this trail when it was posted! I did it in one night. Summitted the next day and then headed back to the car. Definitely a long day! I agree wholeheartedly that a little bit of maintenance (maybe even just some sign posts) could really improve the quality of the trail.
Thank you for the comment. There are so many trails with more traffic (human and horse) which far less trail quality issues. This might be an issue of maintenance, it might be an issue of policy, or it might be an issue of etiquette. I would love to hear your thoughts on what could be done to improve it.
My friends told me that every time they were near Kings Peak, there was an afternoon thunderstorm. To our great surprise, there was none of that! Some fire smoke in the distance and one or two sheep clouds. So lucky!
