Passed almost another 10 years since this and he is still this energetic and still making great films.
Scorsese should be on someone’s back like Yoda & directing them where to go
More like master blaster
Hahahaha!! I love that
Imagining Leo running through the swamps with Marty on his back. “Yes! Run! Run!”
Haha great imagery
Like The Big Guy Protecting the Old Guy in A Clockwork Orange
Conan should be awarded for inviting Scorsese these many times
Hope this upload means he's going to the podcast, would love a longform conversation between these two.
I don't think so. He's too much on the news these days cause of his new movie KOTFM and his controversial comments about movies today
@@gilbertodepiento8521sir yaps a lot
@@gilbertodepiento8521 Yeah, he's been everywhere now because he's publicizing the new movie since the actors can't, due to the strike. And so it would be a good opportunity to also go on the podcast.
That would be amazing!
@@diabolusvincit that's right
Please get Marty on the podcast!
Scorsese is a philosopher. Love his interviews.
What a lovely humble Man! Besides obviously one of the greatest directors ever…..

I thought this was about Killers of the Flower Moon until he's like.... "this is a movie with a lot of drug taking..."
Didnt notice 😂😂
Love him. Every time he says "picture" in this video I just think of Joe Pesci.
The Public Eye!
Wonderful question and wonderful explanation

@@capnstewy55 i have no idea who or what that is, sorry

@@diabolusvincit Who, me? Where have i said that i have anything against long movies?
He's the guy in shark tale
Hey thats the guy that did Hugo 🫵😨
He is like Mr Fredricson from The Up
Just like how the song Mother's Little Helper got slammed for glorifying drug use! People didn't listen to the end of the song 😅
Exactly. For many many years, ive been saying that the human animal doesn't absorb the films points or morality. The first I can remember is Wall Street and The Godfather. It was all, Gordon Gecko, drugs, money, Manhattan, women and the first mobile phone. Greed was GREAT! That is what the human animal extrapolated. The mafia culture was interesting and entertaining and 'Cool'. These films helped support these ideas a million times more than teaching a moral. Great entertainment but, destructive to society/culture in general. It behooves one to realize that we are instinctive animals and want the easy candy at all levels, especially when it is destructive long or even medium term. TAKE THE MOVIE -- JAWS and the garbage sequals..............Lead to the killing of 100s of millions of sharks per year. You didn't want to swim in your own pool or bathtub. Sharks kill ONE human per year and it's usually a moron going for a night swim or in the improper place. It's their ocean. Besides that, great art can be unsupportive of humanity. There isnt a "rRght" "Wrong" "Bad' or "Good". There are no such things as those 4 words. Well, UNLESS TALKING ABOUT GODFATHER III........THAT WAS HORRIFIC. 🍊 😮
Lol cool story.
well said
generally films with harmful semantic elements (serial killer, gang, etc) don't engender social support for those negative elements. godfather does humanize but its also about the violence and pain of crime and I think that moral comes through to most viewers; that these are people too who do terrible things borne from a terrible system. rarely is there a wall street or fight club where the majority of viewers are just misinterpreting it. because most films aren't unflinching enough from the protagonists perspective or internal world of the film, morally ambiguous enough, or both of those things while related strongly enough to a specific sub culture to create swathes of confused audience members. yes generally these films humanize in some form (character still often terrible but we are at least exposed to their internality, which is humanizing) while also documenting latently or overtly the intense pain those characters have caused and/or the evil of their actions so as to villify their behaviors whilst rendering the subject as fully as possible to the benefit of the art
@@WartyComb49398 it’s not about garnering social support it’s about normalizing and humanizing that which is apathetic to humanity, leading to moral relativism where there is no relativity to the morality. like in the case of something like wall street or goodfellas, where it’s not that people become confused in any way, but that people simply don’t care about the evil they’re witnessing when it’s presented in as apathetic a manner as the exploiters and murderers would perceive it.
@WartyComb49398 The summation is: If you don't think it's acting.....it's a skill. ;) That has little to do wirh or actually reinforces the opposite of what the film was trying to portray. Most human animals watch The Godfather or Wall Street and exclaim, "That was so cool.". Did you see that guy get or did you see the house he had. It completely destroyed the overall message. I always go back to Jaws. As great as that movie was .. actually, if you watch it in its entirety, the acting isn't amazing and it's not the best/most well written/entertaining film. Roy Schieder tried too hard to recreate a character but, 100s of millions to later billions of sharks were killed and humans didn't want to swim in the bathtub. Movies made money and received critical acclaim and made money (most important) and they aren't there to teach morality or deliver a message but, the opposite message and teaching was achieved.
RIP Scoresesses
What? WHAT?
goodfellas spoilers warning
Get Martin Scorsese on the Conan podcast! I insist! 🫵
