For those of you who didn’t know; the reason why Halloween 3 was different was because micheal died in Halloween 2 so they decided to make a sequel with a completely different story, but since audiences wanted to see Micheal Myers come back in action they decided to bring him back to life in Halloween 4
Yes the original plan was to keep telling new halloween stories. But they quickly ditched that idea after the third wasn't so well received.

Halloween (2007) It's really good! Rob Zombie did a Great job and Tyler Mane was a great Michael Myers. And i don't find Halloween 2 (2009) as bad as people say it is, it's pretty decent and definitely better than Halloween Resurrection. The reason monster its Halloween Resurrection and not Rob Zombie.

Halloween 2 (1981)- continued where he left off. he (Myers) wasn't done yet.
Halloween 4 - Michael Myers meets his Match . His niece Jamie meets her uncle Michael.... and he doesn't wanna play.
Halloween (Rob Zombie version) - brought a story behind Michael Myers and his insanity but still stuck with the main essence of the story. A very disturbed child named Michael kills his sister judith and Step father then is sent away to Smithsgrove mental hospital ... only to escape decades later to go after his younger sister Laurie Strode (who has no idea what's going on).
Halloween 5- Michael's niece Jamie, (scarred after her first encounter with her uncle) is now mute but can sense that her uncle isn't dead.... and wants to finish where he left off.... and kill her.
Halloween H20 - Twenty years after the classic horror film that scared us all... Michael Myers is BACK and this time he's found his sister. Laurie Strode has faked her death, has secretly been posing as a teacher at a posh school and now has a teenage son. But nightmare turns into a reality when she must face her fears and her brother for one final showdown as he's come to finish the job. But Laurie isnt going down without a fight.

I really like Rob's first remake, but the sequel is kind of meh to me. Definitely more watchable than Halloween resurrection, but it's definitely below the first four, H2O, and the remake for me.

The halloween 5 trailer is actually better than the movie. The only parts I like about the movie are when Michael chases Jamie through the house, the ending, and the beginning. Halloween 6 (PC) is my 3rd fav after 1. II is my fav. i can watch either version of 6 but i prefer the PC. 7 & 8 suck.

I love how the trailer to Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 only shows Laurie looking all innocent and constantly panicking and Loomis saying how evil grows stronger. Because even the advertisers don’t want to show how much Zombie pulled a 180 on both characters and make them unlikable fuckwads unlike his first remake whether or not you liked the first remake.
Why would you make a movie about a killer and then not have the 3rd one keep any of the elements that were in the original movie.....
Or why would you sell the rights to rob zombie

I think John Carpenter wanted to do a different theme each movie. 1 and 2 and sequels and was supposed to end there for micheal meyers. It appears the public didn't like the idea with the third movie so it never went through, and thus carpenter's role in the later movies is non existent.

All the halloween films were good except for part 3 season of the witch and the 2 rob zombie ones in the reboot era also sucked as well. I hope they make a part 9 of the classic era. Itztylerbro Dude the curse of thorn story is the backbone of halloween and the Myers story. It was first mentioned in part two and part 4 thru 6 carried it on. Even in part one it was mentioned via doctor Wynn and loomes scene.

At the time, they had planned to just make the Halloween series about all different scary stories. Michael Myers was originally the first two. Then the next two we're going to be about kids and mind control masks. And they would move on to other scary stories that way. But people just complained instead about no Michael Myers so they scrapped their entire plan and just kept knocking out Michael Myers movies lol. :P

I’m gonna say my opinion: The first Halloween film was an amazing extreme masterpiece. The second one was really good and was like a real legit sequel, fantastic.

Halloween three-I don’t know what to say about it. Halloween four was so different to the real choice and story of the film, so much lost and un-answered, even this film was ignored and lost in the sequel. So pointless. The others, five, six, H20, and the rest were worse, none of the story fits.
I personally think 1 and 2 were the movies, since then, it’s all lost.
Season of the Witch is underrated af. in my top 5 for sure.

I think it had to do with the covenant also seen in the curse of MM movie. It was also supposed to be a series of different stories but everyone seemed to want a MM instead of a different story every time so they kinda scrapped that idea But it is all tied in somehow

Just one thing though... why call RZ's films Halloween 9 and 10? They're not part of the original franchise. They're modelled after the original story but the plot and characters are quite different. They're reboots, not follow-ups.
It's easier to write 9 and 10 in the title than to write 'and the Rob Zombie reboots'.
I guess I could also argue they are the 9th & 10th entries in the series. :P

I have to agree. I didn't like his takes on Halloween whatsoever.
Now making a modern Halloween movie is hard. But I think they need to let go of Laurie and her story. People love the originals too much. Stop interfering with it. That story doesn't need to be told again. What they should do, is simply focus on either, Lauries children in the future, though I still think that's not great. Or they should simply have an entire new family move into the house in modern times. And at Halloween Michael comes home. But messing with the original is just stupid if it doesn't need fixing.
I don't know why people say Rob Zombie ruined Halloween when it started getting worse after Seasons ofthe Witch.H4 was a sucess but H5 had a few ups and downs and then H6 hit rock bottom.H2O fixed a little bit with an up but Resurrection hit rock bottom again.I would also like to state that the remakes are much better than Resurrection.

I'm sure that most Halloween fans know this, but a fun fact about this franchise is that when it was first being made, John Carpenter hadn't planned on making a part 2 that included Michael Myers in it. The Halloween Franchise was initially supposed to be an Anthology type of movie. After H1 & H2 they were still determined to make it an anthology, which is why they still attempted to do it with Halloween 3. But H3 ended up bombing at the box office, so after a few years they gave up on the anthology and brought back Michael Myers. Which is exactly what everyone wanted. And unlike other franchises such as A Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th, the several sequels to Halloween were actually pretty good. Well, they were up until part 6. They all SUCKED big black cock after that. At least until Rob Zombie came along with the reboot in 2007.
