    My video photo montage production highlights the complexity of race in a town (East Jackson) where the longstanding Black population has intermingled with the longstanding white population for such a long period of time that to the average outside observers - the racial lines/identity have become blurred.
    Not so with the overwhelming people of East Jackson, Ohio - they still consider themselves to be AFRICAN-AMERICAN.

    There have always been families like this in the south. The usually marry lightskinned or into other "bright" families. Before the 90s, this look was not diluted. The mate had to be light or have straighter hair than most

      If you do a search for “you don’t have to look black to be black” you’ll find it

      ​@leelandglover7777 Creole generally means a person or people of mixed colonial French, African American and Native American ancestry. And since we are a one drop empire. It's Black. Not to be confused with African.
