    Magnificent.
    Micky is still the best I’ve ever seen live.
    Back into the future 73 in the Roundhouse (sorry no Deke), is sublime...

    I was there in the tiny underground studio in Lower Regent Street. Very exciting times musically. I remember a fantastic, almost visual effect between the guitars where the sound arched overhead from one side of the stage to the other. Still listen sometimes to the Two Ounces album especially.

    Well what can you say ! Just heard the Glasgow 1975 gig on You Tube for the first time and so good. This Peel session has a real bite to it but as much as I love Maximum Darkness, The Twang Dynasty and all other things rock and roll I still love the live slice of Back into the Future probably more than anything else they did (particularly C’mon) as they were then to my ears prog personified. Others may disagree but that’s my shout !

    Wow... only just heard this for the first time. Brilliant. Every lineup was superb. Great to hear Ken Whaley on bass.

    Great session and amazing sound even on mobile phone speaker - MAN in top form, around the time I first seen them live at Manchester Palace Theatre - one of the all time truly great bands throughout all their line up changes

      I met Roger after an Iceberg gig at the Boom Boom club in Sutton about eighteen months before he died. I was so glad that I did. I have been a Man fan since about this period, i.e. Rhinos, Winos & Lunatics.

    Nice intro of 'Many are Called" but i advise to listen to their whole album 'Do You Like It Here Now Are You Settling In' for an even better arranged track. The A side begins with an ethereal 'Angel Easy' which fits superbly the angelic album art. A record to cherish.

      yeah right on that is a great LP, that and" be good to yourself....'are probably my two favorite Man studio LPs...however I am really enjoying hearing live versions of the tracks by the different Man lineups, and this is a fabulous version of many are called, I love the way it flows intoHard way to die,great overall sound

    They just look so....Welsh. Fantastic ! On another note - sometime between 1993-5 I saw Man perform at Sam's Bar in Cardiff. I couldn't believe they were playing in such a small venue but thinking retrospectively this may have just been a warm up gig for something bigger as I know they played Cropedy and Glastonbury sometime around then. It's a long shot but I'd love to hear from anyone who has information about the Sam's bar gig....

      We supported them in Narberth around then. The line-up was Mickey and Deke on guitars,Martin Ace on bass,and Pugwash on drums. The set was mostly songs from the Twang Dynasty album(all of which sounded brilliant live) with only two older songs,one of which was Many Are Called But Few Get Up.I had never realised how powerful that song was until I was standing directly in front of the stage getting it full volume.After,Deke let me look at his striped tele.and also his SG.One of my favourite all time bands

    • @stephensmith799
      @stephensmith799 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They played big venues and small ones and gave out just as much to both eg at the Hand and Spear up the hill from Weybridge. Very much aware of their fans... no ego maniacs... just tallented...

      @noelmajers6369 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@stephensmith799 Nice comment. In the last couple of years I've learned a lot more about the individual personalities that made up Man whereas back then, I have just collected a few of their albums. Had I known then what I know now, I would have studied the gig much more closely. I remember that they played C'Mon and Bananas and also I think Many Are Called But Few Get Up but that's about all I can remember part from the fact that they were excellent.

    • @stephensmith799

      @@noelmajers6369 I guess you've read Deke's books. My wife took a pic of me paralytic with laugher fit to burst while reading it. Talented writer as well as lyricist and musician. I guess more than anything he was an acute observer of life.
