HS AGRICULTURAL SERVICES hello again when I was rebuilding the gearbox I discover something very important there are a very small filters on the control valves. it talks about that on the manual that you have. they are a net metal and are easy to remove all you need is some hexagon key to unscrew them. they are located on the main control valve and prevent metal chip to enter the valve orifice when calibrating. once I clean this filters the calibration numbers went down to 50 for F1 54 for reverse and 53 for F2 if you want send me your phone number and I can give you more details about it.
hi just to give you some info if the calibration of either clutch pack is near 99 that means the transmission has a weak hidraulic pump or the clutch package has worn out plates or bad seals because once the computer gets to number 99 it will not calibrate so you should be thinking on taking the transmission apart and rebuilding the clutch packages at least F1and R good luck
Would it be alright if I linked this video in an assignment I have for college about clutch and transmission calibrations. I love Ford and take any chance to include them in an assignment. Thanks
ok these are great tractors and very powerfull I hope she will last a lot of years Im just finishing to work on mine I had to split the tractor and rebuild the three directional clutches and I also install a new transm. pump and a new hydraulic pump once it was separated not too bad i think i spend like 6000 us dls today i will install the transm on the tractor and maybe this week I could have it done hope everything goes well
Emilio Dixon sorry didn't respond straight away must have missed ur comment. always nice to hear from fellow owners. hope your rebuild has gone well. would love to see videos of it
HS AGRICULTURAL SERVICES thank you and yes it is working well thank god it has been working on leveling some fields with laser and with a offset disc I have some pics but nit a video i will take one and send it to you im very glad the tractor is good after the rebuilding process and glad to hear from you
Sorry I'm late getting back to u but I was after advice on how to reply to you. Regarding actually in the seat driving, there is a hand throttle which negates the need for a foot throttle. The gearbox is completely clutchless both in forwards and reverse selection and the full range of gears ( it's all controlled off the joystick in the video) although you need to be at a complete stop before changing directions. The brakes are not servo assisted and require reasonable effort compared to for example a car or a modern tractors. The steps are wide and angled so getting into the cab is easier than most but there isn't alot of space to get from floor to seat. Really hope this helps. I'm not trying to put u off trying to have a go just trying to help u know possible issues.
Hello, I also get ford 8830 and change the control unit, but when I'm starting the tractor lcd shows "88" and then nothing tractor doesn't even move. Could You help me with that problem Ps. sorry for my english
@@hsagri69 Ok, so we worked on it now i can see on lcd but when i want to calibrate it strating to move forward and if i want to do it with brake pedal tractor is turning off
Nope we have fords in Midwest of USA, we have 9700, fw60, 8730 and lots of John Deere mfwd. Of course all out tractors are shedded out of season, so that be why we don’t have these problems. Thanks for the video.
That explains it. Soggy British weather isn't kind on poor quality steel. Sounds like u have a collection to be proud of. Glad y found the video useful
Finally did this today on my mates 8770. Entering calibration mode is a bit different but it’s about the same. I took the manual a week or so ago and had a read through. He said “brilliant, can you do the 8670 tomorrow while discing 5 acre” lol
Yeah quite a big difference actually. Had the press on so only got up to 8th but 7-8th was virtually unnoticeable. Be interesting to see see the difference in 10th see if the range change is different. Nearly throws you out your seat at the moment.
+Sam Jaggard repaired start of this year. Along with cosmetic refurb and a few little jobs. Is up on channel if your interested. Ford 8830 winter projects
+Ferguson 20 diesel can be an indicator of boxes health but it doesn't mean it's gone. This video was done around 18 months ago. She calibrated last week in low to mid 80s
Greatly appreciated mate. My 8630 actually came from over the pond in France maybe. I can’t read a thing in book or on tractor. I love it though. I’ve got to find out sequence on 8770 genesis. Man that’s a hard thing to find and our new Holland dealer here sucks big time. You seriously saved me during a late planting season last year. She stopped moving on me and I didn’t have a clue of what to do and couldn’t find info on internet. My hat is off to you👍👍. Wish I could buy you a 🥩😁
H.S AGRICULTURAL I do thank you my friend. I’m going to try it this weekend. It’s my uncles and goes in reverse and won’t move. Im hoping that’s all it is. Im 99% sure it’s never had it done and has 4K hours on it.
You are the man!! Mine just started throwing C codes and it’s planting season. Thank you
Your very welcome. Glad to hear this video is helpful
wow for that age and still running sweet i got say well done

thanks for the advice. I think the primary pump could do with looking at
Where did you get the workshop manual from?
Came with the tractor
Deep pockets help but I do enjoy using my 8730 powershift as intended. 😉😁
I have deep pockets but very short arms🤣. She's stretched her legs a few times since I've had her
Hello.can you drive that tractor without having to put your foot on the clutch??would it suit someone in a wheelchair..?

Sounds nice

How did doors rust out so soon? Are you right on coast? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ford cab rusted like that.
R u uk. The super q cabs were renowned for rusting there an bottom of the windscreen due to ford using inferior steel in the cab structures

Sounds like you need a fw 60, that stieger won’t rust away in three lifetimes
we have this manual in house took from old 8730
The rust on the door is depressing
It doesn't look like that anymore. Have her a minor refurd about 2 years ago
thank you
Watched this a couple of years ago and said to my mate with the two 70s that we should calibrate them. He still hasn't done it! Drives me mad!!
Just wait till he's not watching an do it 😁
I like your thinking!

+North Yorkshire Agri videos looking forward to see what you do with it channel.
How old is that tractor it's seems like it had a hard life.
Lyndon Williams she's a 1991 with nearly 10k hours. she's actually looks like she's bin well cared for
@@hsagri69 that's one tidy tractor. Interior is immaculate! If the inside is that well kept the engine is going to be perfect.
It's in the 90s means it's nearly clapped out
