Hi Pond, thank you for your videos. This old video is great and seems to become standard for gambling for gear. In my calculation, this gambling part is not effective. I suppose that all the product and materials are dissembling into the basic green materials. It has 29.8% chance to lose 45 basic green materials if the product is green shield or amulet, 6.4% to lose 33 basic green materials if it is blue, and 63.8% to gain 39 basic green materials if it is purple. Which, on average, gives only 0.298 basic green material per chance. Though you can repeat the process, it is not dragonite effective. The way to bet should be crafting the weapon or helmet, using 3 long-time green material and one short-time purple material. Is is 68.9% to lose 15 basic green for green helmet or weapon, 14.8% to gain 15 more basic green for blue one, and 16.3% to gain 135 basic green for purple one. This method can give 13.89 basic green material per chance. The latter method can reduce the dragonite and time required, so it is more effective than the former.
Interesting - What I've been doing pretty successfully is taking 1 common item that's purple - Phoenix Feather or Mystic Iron for cavalry - and 3 green rare items - Dragon Tendons and craft either the Helmet or Weapon. If you craft 20 times, (20 purple common items and 60 green dragon tendons) the averages give you 3 blue, 3 purple and 14 green equipment. Break that up and you go from 60 green dragon tendons to over 200.
I combine this 2 methods. And when I have not enough feather and iron but have a lot of 🧤 then I do 2 purple gloves and green feather and green iron. So I comeback to a equal quantity of regular materials and do again the method Pond described.
I do the same but I don't use the green I use the white on the dragon tendon , so it's 3 purples and bottom right tendon is a white instead of a green,

A1. I gamble purple and green as the percentage difference from blue isn't that big and you get a much better return on investment for that rare material. The only issue is you're losing a lot on the common materials if you pull a green piece after gambling, but I'm generating plenty of common materials so it's not an issue. A2. People generally find you have a better chance of getting orange materials when you open 200 or more chests.

Glad you pointed this out. The math strongly favors this instead of Pond's recommendation, and it's what I do myself. Pond's recommendation has a rare material ROI of .638*16+.064*4+.298*1 = 10.762. That's a 63.8% chance of improving one item 16 times (purple is 16 greens), a 6.4% chance of improving one item 4 times (blue is 4 greens), and a 29.8% chance of not improving. In comparison. gambling with spears or helmets gives you a 16.3% chance of 3 purples, a 14.8% chance of 3 blues, and a 68.9% chance of 3 greens. That's .163*16*3+.148*4*3+.689*3 = 11.667 ROI - an 8% increase in rare material ROI over Pond's method. If you're gambling enough times for the math to average out, that additional 8% adds up quickly. You do a lot fewer gambles to reach your goal, and they have a greater return in aggregate. Note that this math totally ignores the loss in strength of the non-rare materials. It assumes you totally don't care about materials being downgraded in the process. I've been working on a complete mathematical chart of all ROIs with all combinations, to find the one case that has the highest ROI, but I haven't finished it. I'm not positive that purple/green is the optimal gamble, as compared to orange/blue, purple/white, whatever.
Hi, going back through some of your old videos lordofpondtail. I have tried your technique with blue and white at my level and works great. I have been producing the normal materials to produce an archers coat. I already have an orange one, do you think it uses less dragonite to produce 3 more orange and combine or to just produce a new gold one. I don't have the gold materials yet, so no idea how much it takes. Does it require dragonite to combine 4 orange to gold in your experience? Thanks. Yours are the best in the English speaking world. :D I'm not sure if it's unfortunate or fortunate but I only finally was told about this gambling thing a couple days ago. I don't think I saw you mention doing all 10 L15 Destroyers every day but that is also huge in getting mats. My state has been around for 16 months at this point, and I have done those destroyers semi religiously almost every day. So, I'll take it as fortunate I didn't know sooner cuz I have a healthy pile of mats accumulated. I also have 1.2M gems as I'm a natural born hoarder. I do think this method isn't quite as good as crafting helmets or weapons with 3 green rare mats and a common purple though, and that's what I was told to do. In 5 or 6 dozen crafts I've added several hundred green dragon tendons in less than an hour of actual time doing it. But without the huge stash I already have this would not have been possible of course. I was told that mathematically speaking though, the 3 rare greens and 1 purple give the best bang for the buck. Either method beats the heck out of the years long grind of creating the mats in the blacksmith at any rate. Thanks for your videos.
Pond my man great video. If you were to use gems on cavalry chests would you spend on green or purple. Apologies if you already gave your opinion on this and I missed it. Cheers!
So green gives you a better return for your gems. 250 gems per green chest. You need 16 green to make 1 purple material.16 x 250 = 4000 gems. One purple chest is 4500 gems. Only thing is you have the hassle of combining all the green materials, but that only takes a few seconds :)
Hi Jared, sorry I made a mistake in my original comment, I forgot to think about the fact that those purple chests to have the chance for you to obtain between 1-3 purple materials in each chest. So it's only more economical on green if you're just obtaining one per chest. So I need to change my answer and advise you to go for Purple chests!! Sorry for the confusion!
I just lost so many diamonds and so many purple pieces of armor…. I won it three times in a row and then lost it 5 times in a row! This is dumb!? I might try again tomorrow but I am prettt upset I just did that lol

Orange Dragon Gear will be very similar to normal gold sets, in fact you'll loose some combat speed I think. The only benefit might be if you have to the 3 heroes for the top mixed combo option. But to be honest I don't think it's a good idea. Stick to the long term plan. You can pick up 45k of Super Dragonite each Eden season in the Honor Shop. There is hope!

Hey Tom, in my experience the connection through the emulator is actually more laggy than my phone when I'm playing KE, so it's actually a disadvantage, but maybe that's just me! Only benefits for me is it's a time saver running several accounts at the same time and the benefits it brings for recording on the channel.
Would you say it more cost efficient to do it with the 3 green non rare and a white tendon . This way it cost the least dragonite and also you would never lose on rare.
Hi James, you do save dragonite doing it that way, you'd never lose a rare mat using any of these methods as the rare is always the same level as the lowest possible outcome. The issue is time, you're going to have to do a lot of gambling at this level to get gold material.
Hi Brenda, yes I use this method for all 4 types of gear: Scavenger, Steel Cav, Wanderer, & Dreadnaught.. You'll need this method for the final four pieces of gear that require the rare material. First 2 of each set only need common materials. :)

Hi Sandra, there are a 5th and 6th legion you can unlock. The defensive legion is available to all players and is in Master City Defense research which you unlock at C25 when you upgrade your institute to lvl25. It stays in your castle and you access it from the garrison menu in the Fortress. At lvl2 you can get the gatherers guild privilege and this allows you to send a gathering party which as no heroes, but you can put gathering gear on it. So it makes it easier to get 9th chest on gathering Mondays.
I've been playing since June '19 so I've got an old account. My base power (Buildings/Tech/Heroes) is about 25 million, then the rest is troop power. I'm up to 171m power now, but that'll go down soon as we're in Eden!! One player has 2G power in this game, think he's in state 6!!
Don't forget people are going to be recycling the purple normal gear in the crafting process. So if you make it orange, they'll have to dissemble from orange. :)

If you have the gold and the lumber you are looking at 9-15k of gems per workshop for levels 16-20. So you would have to allocate a good 200-250k of gems for this process. But trust me it's worth it in the long run..Then you can just upgrade bit by bit after that until they are all lvl25 :)
@@LordOfPondtail i have no issue with gold and lumber. But it is actually more than 200-250k. I just did the upgrades today from level 12 to 20 and already consume 250k gems for just 3 workshops. Ahhh how i miss the old trading house 😅
@@LordOfPondtail ok, so I used some purples and made like 12 amulets got a few green and a blue kept 1 purple dismantled the rest...I totally get why this is so good. I made 2 orange tendons so It was worth the purples I used, I have saved everything instead of atleast making a blue set or purple set...im now gonna atleast get a full blue set with a few purple items. Or I could just got for all purple.

Hi Mark, green tendons are cheaper than blue. In my experience I'm still getting close to 75% purple using the green. I just had some bad luck while recording! Literally last night I got 16 purple 1 green!
Also when you take a green and make it a purple, you are getting a huge return on investment. While blue to purple is still good return, not as great as green to purple.
Hello Pond, hope you're doing fine. I'm at c20 and trying to get my first set of equipment for the legion. Do you recommend doing the gambling right at the start or firstly, looking to normally get a full set of equipment, beeing it blue for instance, and only after that try gambling the materials. I've got in my suit 1 purple jade belt and one blue golden plate btw. Thanks for your videos! Cheers.
Try and spend some gems on the epic chests if you can afford it. It's really important to get that first set of gold equipment for your class legion as quickly as possible.
😑 s2 arch heroes inqu and witch Hunter are awesome combination and that's perfectly usable up to Eden. And as I have know sky breaker s3 works well with them.
Hey Cameron, it's as Jesy has said. During S2-S4 Sky Breaker-Inqui-Witch Hunter are a very good combo. It's only when you have access to Jade Eagle, Immortal Guardian, Defender, Spectral Reaper that things start to move away from them. I see lots of people using Sky Breaker in their Archer legions still.

But you are recycling the green rare materials in this process, so if you make them blue you'll have to dissemble the rate material back to green.

Hi Justin, an orange piece of gear for archers uses 7.5k of Dragonite, a gold requires 20k. So more efficient to make one gold.

I don't like my odds with 3 purple 1 green. I always do 3 purple 1 blue and have never gotten a blue equipment, always purple

Yeah you can destroy your walls if you don't like them. I just follow the devs automatic layout, I don't even save charcoal TBH.

I'm recycling the purple common material as I have lots of common mats. The aim is to get as many purple rare materials as possible.

My tip would be don't bother. Get Dragon Master gear instead.

If you have the gold and the lumber you are looking at 9-15k of gems per workshop for levels 16-20. So you would have to allocate a good 200-250k of gems for this process. But trust me it's worth it in the long run..Then you can just upgrade bit by bit after that until they are all lvl25 :)
@@LordOfPondtail i have no issue with gold and lumber. But it is actually more than 200-250k. I just did the upgrades today from level 12 to 20 and already consume 250k gems for just 3 workshops. Ahhh how i miss the old trading house 😅

I'm c20 5 mill power, I have like 5 orange materials of each type for calvary, should I disassemble them to purple or gamble with orange
Hi ACW, my strategy at the beginning was not make a full set of orange gear. Keep that and then slowly replace with gold. I didn't break it up.
@@LordOfPondtail ok, so I used some purples and made like 12 amulets got a few green and a blue kept 1 purple dismantled the rest...I totally get why this is so good. I made 2 orange tendons so It was worth the purples I used, I have saved everything instead of atleast making a blue set or purple set...im now gonna atleast get a full blue set with a few purple items. Or I could just got for all purple.
@@LordOfPondtail I have been content with 2 sets of purple scav gear but I can no longer wait. I was gonna go amulet, ranseur then chest helmet etc but idk if that's the best order for calvary.
@@MrSupraman15 I would go purple or even orange if you can use gems to get enough purple materials from the item store. It makes a big difference.
3 months later I have made my full gold cav set with this method. Now I'm halfway done with gold on archer and footmen gear. Thanks pond.
Any reason you don't use a blue tendon? Odds are 75% for purple then. Thanks for the vids man.
Hi Mark, green tendons are cheaper than blue. In my experience I'm still getting close to 75% purple using the green. I just had some bad luck while recording! Literally last night I got 16 purple 1 green!
Also when you take a green and make it a purple, you are getting a huge return on investment. While blue to purple is still good return, not as great as green to purple.

I also have the 5th combative legion 'Defensive Queue' which remains in your castle at all times. This is available from Master City Defense research.

Do you recommend doing the gambling right at the start or firstly, looking to normally get a full set of equipment, beeing it blue for instance, and only after that try gambling the materials.
I've got in my suit 1 purple jade belt and one blue golden plate btw.

I would gamble straight away. Get yourself a full set of orange gear. Then build up your material again.
Try and spend some gems on the epic chests if you can afford it. It's really important to get that first set of gold equipment for your class legion as quickly as possible.

😑 s2 arch heroes inqu and witch Hunter are awesome combination and that's perfectly usable up to Eden. And as I have know sky breaker s3 works well with them.
Hey Cameron, it's as Jesy has said. During S2-S4 Sky Breaker-Inqui-Witch Hunter are a very good combo. It's only when you have access to Jade Eagle, Immortal Guardian, Defender, Spectral Reaper that things start to move away from them. I see lots of people using Sky Breaker in their Archer legions still.
