Its an Englishman's dream come true, and a way to go for Tally Ho, and those involved in this wonderful enterprise. Enjoyed every step of the way and looking forward to whatever unfolds on the high seas. Ha Ha me hearties. Peace .......
I watched every video posted on the building of this magnificent Sailboat.. It’s inspired by Tally Ho, with some of the original bits. But this is as good as a New Build. It’s been very inspiring to watch it all come together..Love Tally Ho , Leo and everyone involved.. Makes me wish I was young again and back on the Sea.. P.S. I will be cheering for the crew at Fastnet …. Give Em H3ll Leo
I just love watching the way you handle the boat here. It's where confidence and caution meet, in total comfort. So glad you're able to be in this space so quickly after a grueling, grueling project. Super nice job, man. All the best to you and your cohorts...
I made the video of Tally Ho at the wooden Boat show and believe this comment was for Leo and his crew. I pasted it and put it on Sampson Boat co so he could read it.
Strange how _No Feet Pete_ just up and vanished - he put in some SERIOUS hard graft getting her back to right and had a workshop adjoining theirs so you'd think he'd have got to go sailing at some point.
I don't think there's any behind-the-scenes drama, Pete seems to be his own man and does what he wants, or needs,to do. He's running his own show now so work may be taking precedence over leisure travel.
@@roscoejones4515 I expected to catch a glimpse of him at least but considering the quantity and quality of his contribution he deserves a mention in dispatches.
Tally Ho is a beautiful boat, really classic elegance. That said I wonder if it shouldn't have lifelines strung along the edges of the deck for protection of crew in rough seas. I mean literally any ocean sailing boat has them, there must be a good reason, no?
wait, WHAT? a K turn in a sailboat actually, having watched from the beginning, it's still stunning what Leo has accomplished,,,he put together a hell of a team!
Marine diesel engine, not an electric motor. The diesel can be de-coupled, or disconnected, from the propeller shaft to power a generator if so desired, or can power both the generator and the propeller at the same time. Really good setup for getting into and out of port where fine maneuvering is needed to safely navigate around other vessels and piers, and to put a charge on the batteries running the ships electronics. Leo has got himself a very well designed mechano-electrical system to supplement the sails.
@@Maadhawk yes, I know. I watched the videos too. My point is that this is the first time since trials that I've seen him maneuvering using the batteries and not the diesel. I've been hoping he would. That is an extremely deluxe and expensive setup.
You did a real nice job on the boat. I’m happy for you. How formal was your sea trials? How well did you do with boat’s speed? Sailing and motoring etc? Did all the systems meet their design goals? Congratulations again! Oh, just asking, do you have all of the sails? I haven’t looked at the vintage photos in a while. I seem to think that those photos had more sails.
You may want to go to www.youtube.com/@SampsonBoatCo/videos and leave your comment. I am just a guy that went to the boat show and made a video of Tally Ho.
@@tracyraley4003 No. But that's a different question. Interesting that you chose not to answer the question I asked, which IS somewhat relevant to your original suggestion.

NZer here - great to see Leo, Patrick and everyone else there!

Ship of Theseus.... regardless of the extent of the rebuild, it still IS the original Tally Ho.

Hi Leo, ya con that boat in close quarters very well.
I'm not Leo, but I will send this over to his channel. I appreciate you watching my video.
That’s a boat to be proud of 👍
It was something to see in person.
he did an impeccable job

Wherever he is I hope he's doing well, he's a mighty impressive individual as they all are actually!

Nice to watch the ship whose building I followed for some years while learning a lot about ship-builiding.

Exquisite yacht, and nicely handled. I think that's the first time since trials I've noticed Leo using the electric motor, too.

Was checking to see if we had another episode of Leo, Pat & The Tally Ho this weekend when I spotted this strangely familiar boat in a thumbnail.....
no plans at this point, but I probably will put up some more at some point.
I put another short video for you. th-cam.com/video/KxJ_lDtpb2M/w-d-xo.html
Hi Mike :)
Hello Leo
I’m an American & really don’t give a Rat’s Behind about the Registry…Just glad the Boat is finally at Sea…Continue to Stay Safe and Enjoy 😎
It was fun while it lasted
It's still fun! Whether they go through the inside passage or around the horn to go back to britain it will be amazing!
Tally Ho must’ve just come back from shakedown cruise.
Yes, she did!
It looks like they made it back from Canada!
He’s wearing a red ensign. It’s a British vessel.
Well spotted
oui et un joli bateau qui plus est .
Port of Registry?

When you're trying to get work done and people keep trying to talk at you...
That boat was built in America. Do you mean American Yacht Tally Ho?
So, if I'm visiting America and edit a book written in England while there, and change most of the words, it becomes an American book?
@@Gottenhimfella if you change 95 percent of the words is it the same book?
