It's about your mindset guy, when I was younger I was a hot head, use to listen to before label Gucci, chief keef, Waka when he first came out, slim dunkin and alot more. But there's a time when you need to think better and notice what you're consuming and listening will plant a seed if you hear it enough and you will indeed feel like living that life. Unless your mentally tough which alot of majority of society isn't. One reason why I don't listen to modern hip hop & rap and past to. I like positive jazz music now, I like blues, classic blues, or maybe some independent artist who speak positivity in their music. You gotta be built differently for that "adult" mindset which comes with maturity. If you still supporting this type of music then you just not matured yet and still see the world through the eyes of industry puppets.

@@wcp4jc its not obsession its just a fascination at other lifestyles. You could ask the same question about why black people are fascinated with italian mafia movies. Same reason everyone else is. Its an interesting lifestyle and its portrayed in a very entertaining way.
I agree with you 100 percent. All this does is glorify this type of lifestyle and influence the younger generation to think it is ok and the "hip" thing to do. Whether the rappers are being serious with their lyrics or just producing them to gain popularity there are people who take the lyrics seriously and try to emulate their favorite artist based on whatever persona they are putting out there for the public to see.

He knows that the majority of his fans are the younger generation that is very impressionable. It is not that he is so deep in that lifestyle that he can't get out. If he wanted to distance himself from that lifestyle he could. Instead he chooses to use his platform to keep pushing that same narrative out there.

It translates to real life. I remember fights when I went through school but never would I imagine that when my daughter is in school, there can be days when there are like 10 fights in a single day. It's always been like that!! I'm over 30 and when I was in school some days there would be 10 fights one day then 2 or 3 days later 6 or 7 and so on and I went to a decent school other schools would have way more than that! The only thing that's different nowadays is the fact we have these smart phone and social media that shows us everything that's happening it was going on back then too but you had to watch the news and I hated the news
