Holy shit! I thought that was you! Yea man, I was pretty quiet, just trying to get by in the shadows. Last name is Morrison. SSgt Smith called me "portholes" all the time and Shepis would always talk to me at night the last couple weeks of boot when the fire alarms would randomly start blaring at night and we'd all have to get up to go outside and wait for them to turn off. You prob won't remember this, but we were very briefly rack mates when the senior DI Mullis was trying to punish the whole platoon for no reason maybe 2 weeks before graduation. I think it was after we were selected honor platoon and you were already selected honor guide and mullis blamed and "fired" you for it. He chose my rack mate as the new guide and you were put on line next to me. I knew it was bs and he was just being his usual self, but understandably, you were a little upset. I tried calming you down at first for a bit, telling you everything was already set, you already got your dress blues and were already chosen for LCpl. I was like, "hey man, it's set, you didn't really get fired. This is all bs and fake and SSgt Smith is going to fix it. Don't worry man, mullis is being a dick... etc." This went on for a bit before I got frustrated because you were still upset and not listening to me. So I was kinda a dick about it and I was like "dude, seriously, this is all bullshit. We're the fucking honor platoon, your the fucking honor guide, we're graduating in (however many days were left), they're not gonna change shit now, just calm the fuck down. This is temporary, you're still the fucking guide, fucking relax." It was something along those lines. That would probably be one of the only things you'd be able to remember me from. Besides that I tried to remain unknown. I'm not sure what group you were in for the Crucible, but I was with Smith. Smith had most of the guys that had like 290 and above PFT scores. We were pt studs haha. On a serious note, I heard your story, brother I'm glad you survived that! I'm proud to know you and have been connected to you in a way. I never been shot, but I was in Ramadi in 06 and survived some major explosions from IED and mortar attacks that rang my bell pretty hard. I know some of the struggles with head injuries, but I can't imagine going through what you went through. You're here for a purpose brother and you owe it to yourself to live life to the fullest and do whatever makes you happy. Unlike most people who criticize, judge, and tell you what they "woulda done if I was you" in every chaotic situation you faced, when they have no clue, you have earned every right to focus your attention inward. You gave so much of yourself to everyone else, more than most can even conceive, live for yourself now brother. Do what makes you happy and don't worry about the keyboard critics or anyone else telling you what you need to do. If you're finding the most peace living on the road, good for you man! Everything and everyone else can wait while you take care of yourself for a while. You earned and deserve the right to do whatever makes you smile. I am pretty impressed you're still putting yourself out there to help other people. You're a legend already bro.
