I lived near Maryland University for awhile. These guys used to have rehearsals that were open to the public. It was fascinating and riveting. Just to get to take a peek under the hood was wonderful. Maybe it's because I'm a musician, but those were exciting events. This Debussy is fantastic.
I remember that! I lived in the DC area at the time and went to one of those rehearsals. They were always one of my favorite groups - the energy and very personal interpretations were something to behold.
WIKI: The work consists of four movements: Animé et très décidé (G minor - D minor - G minor) Assez vif et bien rythmé (G major - E♭ major - G major) Andantino, doucement expressif (D♭ major - C♯ minor - D♭ major) Très modéré - En animant peu à peu - Très mouvementé et avec passion (D♭ major - G minor - C major - G major)
Sounds Like Pennsylvania New Jersey and New York Lincoln Center Sound around an Apple Tree Beautiful Bass Sound of a Cello and Viola with Beautiful Upper Strings and this Sound went to Heaven to be with Applebaum who had a Good Viola Playing Kid Named Mike Applebaum Love this Quartet with a Deep Bass Sound of the Lower Strings but needs 2 Good Violin Players to Complete the Bass Sound of the Guarneri String Quartet
A rare and delightful combination of nature's and man's gifts.
Thank you so much.
Genius performance AND cinematography!

Thanks for this - sublime!
Is that Roisman's violin that Steinhardt is playing? The Guarneri had a great sound and wonderful ensemble control.
Perfect!!!

Good Applebaum
The Applebaum didn't fall very far from the tree.

You don't think Steinhardt and Dalley are good? Come on.....lol. In terms of sound, who's better?
@@aachoocrony5754 Exactly - there have NEVER been a better pair of violinists!!
