You can't demean traditions then claim sola scriptura which itself is a tradition. Protestantism is also a tradition. The reformation was a tradition. All Christians hold to one tradition or another. The issue is whether those traditions are legitimate.
Jesus berated the pharisees for holding to their own traditions over the word of God. Sola scriptura isn't a tradition. The word itself declares that scripture alone is sufficient. Protestantism isn't a tradition and neither was the reformation.

I get what you are saying but the only way we know what the man on the middle cross said was through the sacred tradition of the apostles which was then recorded and written as Holy Scripture. So no, I don't think everything else is superfluous. They are fundamental to faith.
