Hi Doug, this is Janie. I'm surprised Abe started home because God said These people's blood would be on his hands, not that he could make money. God gives us things to do for a purpose, a means to an end.
Oh yes, work is honorable and it's good to be thoughtful in your choice of employment, but in this case there apparently was such a lack of people to sell religious books that God wanted him to do that knowing that he could take care of his school bill in another way. And it was wonderful that he got to answer that lady's prayer back walking over the hill to her house that day. Amazing!- Douglas
