When I read the title about building a koi pond, I honestly wasn't expecting much but was still excited to see that the video was all about. I love koi ponds and fish and that sort of thing. You blew me away with how amazing this turned out! This is so freaking cool! I hope u do an update on your fish and koi pond. You all did an amazing job in every detail of putting it together
I can’t tell if you’re serious or trolling but if you are serious keep your head up bro! “Everything will be ok in the end, if it’s not ok then it’s not the end” little quote that helps me out when things get rough
Im in the process of digging my pond right now, and i figured the rain would have messed it up, but now im wondering if it didn't help loosen some of the dirt up, so ill be digging in the morning to see how it goes
Thank you! that was just for the float valve which fills up the pond every time the water level drops, similar to a pool or on a swamp cooler. It isn’t necessary for a pond you can always fill up manually but with the design of my skimmer there isn’t much room for failure if the water level were to drop my pump would burn out since no water would be getting to the pump through the skimmer. You don’t even need a skimmer you can always just put the pump lower so you don’t have to worry about the water level dropping too much. Lmk if you have any more questions I’m happy to help (:
the cardboard helps kill the weeds/ seeds underneath, without it the weeds would just grow through depending on how much you used. I got the mulch for free using chipdrop.com check it out I've gotten multiple drops from them
It looked even better than what I thought, It looks awesome I also made a diy pond I have some videos of it maybe I should post it. Maybe someone would enjoy it as much as I did watching this video
2600 GPH pump i believe. Prob around $.50-$1.00 a Day but the benefits are so worth it. Same price/cheaper than buying a fountain drink and I’d bunch rather wake up to my pond
Dig deep and create lots of little spots for them to hide, my fish are at a size where they can go behind the rock walls but once they get bigger I’ll have to put some shelter in there, prob just a little bridge cave with 2 rocks on each side and a top stone
Don’t plant the Anubis into the ground you gotta tie to a rock so the roots don’t die and make sure to remove the gel on the bottom of the plants, the Amazon swords have string holding all of them together
You remind me a lot of my younger selfs attitude; how hard can it be? Go for it! The results were fantastic, great job!
thank you so much Kurt !

i bet it loosened it up! only bad part is it makes it super heavy lol
Beautiful. I have a question. What’s the underground pipe that u dug for? Is it an extra flow of water? I’m new to backyard ponds. Thanks

Thank u mark
Of course!
Just wondering cause I’m building a pond soon why did u put cardboard under the mulch also if you can say how much did you spend on it roughly

Hey thanks!(: also yes you should definitely post it! Would love to see it
How you make the water clean and clear ? 😮
The right amount of rocks and plants do all the cleaning, just like what we see in nature
How big of a pump did you use ? Do you know how much electricity it uses a month ? Please let me know id like to build one thankyou

@@MarkyMark21 thankyou God Bless
Of course, I doubt it’s even up to $1 a day it’s prob more around .30 - .50 cents a day for a pond like this
Nice video make some more videos
Thank you! I have a lot more on the way
@@MarkyMark21 nice!👍
i like da froggies 🥹
Da Froggies like you
How do you deal with predatory like birds eating all your fish

Also the waterfall stirs up the water pretty good, the first couple months I had them they were always hiding under the waterfall
