宮古島・八重干瀬スノーケル YABIJI coral reef, Miyakojima, Okinawa

宮古島の北に日本最大級のサンゴ礁があって、それはとても美しいところだと評判だったので、出かけてきました。2023.8.20、池間島の八重干瀬マリンサービスさんの船で訪れたヤビジは期待を裏切らない素晴らしい場所でした。
Yabiji is known as one of the most massive and beautiful group of coral reefs in Okinawa, Japan. It is located several miles off shore Ikema island, which is the northern most island in Miyako islands. About 40 square miles shallow extensive area consists of more than 100 small reefs in Yabiji, which is often compared to and referred to Great Barriar Reef among Japanese people. Although Yabiji is far smaller in scale than such a famous and great world natural heritage, it is still so beautiful and recommended to be placed in bucket list which everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.
