Hoi Vroni und Micha. Ja ich hatte es nie gedacht am Anfang von dieses Jahr, aber ich finde die Trangia Produkten echt toll. Fijne avond. Liebe Grüsse Sandra und Ravi 🐾
I have the Trangia Mini too and it seems like a common complaint regarding the stove base being next to useless in the wind. I've bought a cheap (£5.50 on eBay) titanium windshield to solve the problem. As for the pot gripper I've put a small cable tie on it which I can slide down when I need to open it and slide back up to keep it fixed on the pot. It's an excellent one person cook set and in head to head tests the Trangia burner outperforms my cheap Chinese copy in every way, but it's a bit annoying that I had to spend another five quid on the windshield to make it practical. However it will outlast me by many years so what's a fiver at the end of the day? Enjoyed your video!
Thank you for your comment. Happy to hear that you enjoyed to video. I am about to buy an extra windshield as well. I absolutely agree that that's a bit annoying, but safety is important to. Great tip for the pot gripper! I am definately going to try that as well. 👍
Guten Morgen, ich wünsche einen schönen Samstag. Vielen dank für dein Video mit einem guten Inhalt verpackt. Hast du echt toll gemacht mir gefällt es. Lg Marci
An extra windscreen really helps. Actually, I made my best fried eggs ever (they usually end up as scrambled eggs) on a Trangia mini, facing Ben Nevis and praying for the midges to stay away. Fijne wandeling!
Nice video, I like my Trangia mini but like you, I decided that the windscreen... Isn't. With the normal Trangia, I use the pot grabber to place the simmer ring on the burner. That makes it far easier. Also you have probably worked out that the bottom can get hot so you have to be careful where you put it.
A tip I just picked up is: stick a small magnet to the cover of your simmer ring, so you can pick up and place the ring using a fork, a knife or even the pot grip of the Trangia mini.@@theoutdoordogandhikinggirl
Loved the capri sun tip. Thank you for sharing 😊
You're welcome.

Hoi Sandra!
Das sieht doch prima aus! Der Trangia wird dir 2024 bestimmt gute Dienste leisten! 🙂 Fijne avond!
*Tot ziens!*

Facing Ben Nevis...🥰 Definitely not a bad lookout when cooking!
Indeed 😃! Still, the midges...@@theoutdoordogandhikinggirl
@@rik7295 the only downside of bonnie Scotland.
Yep, they need a windshield, something like the titanium foil Bushline Designs Titanium Windshield works well.
Yeah, than it works better indeed.
u can use a folding windscreen 😊 that is compact
@@arcteryx40 got one in the mean time and indeed works great. Thanks for the tip.

That's a good tip for the simmer ring, thank you..I am definately going to try that next time I use it.

@@rik7295 great tip.
Oh, I tried the magnet trick... Apparantly, a magnet loses its magnetism when heated...@@theoutdoordogandhikinggirl
@@rik7295 thanks for telling..that's good to know.
didnt catch the fuel reference at first, i thought u ment juice being the fuel for you. smart though. ill try that
@@Weise1001 😊 yeah just a little thing you just need to know.
Watch Luke Hamilton for some smashing Trangia Mini cooking recipes…and Bushcraft Dave! 😁👍🙌
Thanks for the tip! I know Bushcraft Dave, but Luke Hamilton is new to me so I am definately going to check his channel.
@@theoutdoordogandhikinggirl The Mini has massively grown on me since I first got it! RedSwede Outdoors is another source of inspiration. Good luck! 😁
@@amandaleigh3852 great, thanks a lot🥰
Use the fry pan as a lid. Reduce boil time.
Thanks for the tip.
yeah, a lid and a windscreen should reduce the boil time to +/- 6 minutes, mini trangia have a fry pan and it work like a lid too, anyways it was nice
