Hi Jackie.. cool vlog the Gruffalo is quite a famous kids story over here with a Rol Darl kind of vibe to it and there is also a pro touring theatre show version (which I have worked on several times over the years) with music and catchy tunes too.. it’s a thing 👍🏼🙂
this is neat! That witch is really cute-looking lol And I LOVE listening to the British commentary on the Safari ride. Reminds me of Spaceship Earth (the commentary, not the ride) :D
It used to be so much better! The station is so much brighter. Merlin don't really give the TLC the parks deserve and our winters do make things look grubby fast.

Followed Sam for years, don't know why it's taken me this long to watch your videos! The Vampire was the first coaster I ever went on, back in the mid 90's, absolutely adore that ride!!!

LOVED watching your UK videos last year so I was so excited about this. Chessington is my local park and I love it so much. I feel like I become completely lost in the theming and revert back to being a kid. The queue line theming for vampire is so much fun! We went to the smokehouse for the first time earlier this year and really enjoyed it (the meat platter is really good!). I really want to stay at the hotel this year! Enjoy the rest of your stay :)

I love watching these videos from distances I have never traveled. It's so much fun to see what things are like over the pond. Someday I'll get there! But until Someday happens I will continue to follow your adventures!
That organ player animatronic went through a massive overhaul about a year ago. It was just bad as it squeaked and was so jerky before. Now it has a new look and it works.
Great to have you over here Jackie, we were supposed to be flying to Orlando last year and this year but couldn't because of the pandemic. We're going next year instead now and this year going to Blackpool. Not quite the same vibe but he ho, glad to see that at least you two can see each other again
Chessington is one on my favourite UK theme parks. The they don't have as many thrill rides as Alton towers or Thorpe park but the theming is more consistent and the park just feels nicer to be in. Great vid Jackie 👍
Aw I love this, Chessington was my home park for 9 years and I’m only ten,sometimes I went so much I didn’t appreciate it enough. It’s brilliantly themed and if u want to know anything about the parks history I got you. By the way it used to be very different!

I enjoyed watching this because it’s my most local park it’s a 30 minute drive for me and I have been visiting since I was a child and it was just a Zoo with a train then. Last summer I stayed at the Safari Hotel 3 times because Covid meant we couldn’t travel far, and I discovered that the Hotel is amazing in it’s theming and the way you feel like you are in a different world. The Safari views from the Hotel are spectacular. We fed the Giraffes too which was a very unique experience and felt like a privilege. I’m so happy you appreciated Chessington so much, but I can’t believe you didn’t go in Croc Drop! Next time?
Great vlog. Chessington is a nice little park and happy you were so lucky with the weather as it's been tragic this year. Is Paulton's on Sam's itinerary? It's really great there.
Not Paulton this trip, it just didn't fit. We did Thorpe today and it was cold, wet, blustery and horrid weather, but we still had so much fun!! Will be editing that vid soon!

This looks like a lovely park with beautiful scenery all around. I am not one for the spinning rides once when I was younger most likely a teenager I went with some friends on the tilt a whirl and really was not enjoying myself and they stopped the ride to see whether I wanted to get off but, I stayed and did not make a peep afterward. I loved how they did the theming for Vampire and there is something about forests and woods that take me to a happy place..

A couple of those coasters reminded me a little bit of some of the ones in Busch gardens with the spinning and the legs dangling. Hey if you can, definitely try to give us more details about like the beer that you had there and what you thought of it if it was domestic, etc. Also if you go into any like really old historic pubs that are still in operation I've always been fascinated by those over there. They really went all out on vampire. The new drop ride looks like a really long line for the style of ride. I'm glad it was sunny

Chessington is definitely my favourite merlin park. The theming and atmosphere is unmatched in my opinion.

It's crazy how they are allowed to holiday here but we can't go there. It's so backwards.
The imperial leather soap overlay of professor burps was such a huge insult to an amazing dark water ride. At least the Gruffalo does it some justice
