- Airline Trip Report. Bangkok Airways Flight PG127 to Koh Samui (USM) from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Thailand. This is a short Bangkok Air flight review (Tripreport) of Bangkok Airways flight PG127 from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Koh Samui Airport (USM). This is onboard (cabin view video footage of the flight seen from the perspective of a passenger flying in Bangkok Airways Economy Class and includes the takeoff from Bangkok Airport and also the landing at Koh Samui Airport (Samui Airport).
This onboard cabin view flight footage begins in Bangkok´s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) where we are travelling in a transit bus towards our Bangkok Airways aircraft, an Airbus A319-132 with flight number PG127 and aircraft registration HS-PGN. Bangkok Airways has named this aircraft "Luang Prabang". The footage then shows some close up footage of the aircraft and her engine while we climb the stairs on board the aircraft where we are greeted by the Bangkok Airways cabin crew. The Bangkok Air cabin crew are friendly and very professional. The first thing you notice when walking through the aircraft is the steam vapor coming from the ventilation system. I am not quite sure whether this is because of the hot Bangkok climate or whether cool steam is purposely pumped in to the cabin. The footage then shows some of Bangkok Airway´s in flight safety video before the aircraft begins her pushback. We then view the takeoff from Bangkok Airport where it begins to rain while on our run down the runway.
The footage includes our inflight meal and then we begin with the descent footage for our landing at Koh Samui Airport. Our aircraft lands at Koh Samui where it lands from the Northern side of the airport (the Big Buddha Side). The disembarkation from our aircraft and the drive to our gate are also included. We had a very enjoyable flight with fantastic inflight service by the cabin crew, free beverages (including alcoholic drinks) and a lovely in flight meal. Bangkok Airways lives up to its own description "Asia´s Boutique Airline". This really is a Boutique Airline that delivers a little bit extra even to Economy Class passengers! Our flight from Bangkok´s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Koh Samui Airport (USM) too approximately one hour and five minutes. Bangkok Airways flight PG127 was a pleasant and very quick short-haul flight.
This Airbus A319 with registration HS-PGN and was delivered to Bangkok Airways in January 2009. Bangkok Airways named this aircraft "Luang Prabang". Prior to this the aircraft does not appear to have been owned or operated by any other airline. This Airbus A319-132 had its first flight in January 2009.
This aviation footage is filmed at Bangkok´s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Thailand and at Koh Samui Airport (USM) also in Thailand. We are onboard a Bangkok Airways A319 flight between the two cities.
Wiki writes about Bangkok Airways, "Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited is a regional airline based in Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Chatuchak District, Bangkok, Thailand. It operates scheduled services to destinations in Thailand, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Laos, Maldives, Burma, India and Singapore. Its main base is Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok. Bangkok Airways is currently an official sponsor of Bangkok Glass FC, Chiang Mai FC, Trat FC, Lampang FC, Sukhothai FC and Bangkok Christian College FC. Airline ranking company Skytrax has consistently ranked Bangkok Airlines very highly, currently giving them a four-star rating...".

I will never forget this flight from Bangkok to Samui. It was my first trip to Thailand and after taking two long connection flights from South Africa, I still enjoyed this short flight. It was very comfortable and I didn't even expect to still receive a free meal on board. Arriving at Samui airport, it was about 21:30 at night. I think it was the last flight, that little airport is so special and taking the long walk to the arrival area experiencing that humidity for the first time. Absolutely amazing. Then greeted by Buffalo Tours transfer to Nora Chaweng Hotel. My 2017 Trip Bangkok, Hua Hin & Samui is already booked.

Now thats an interesting pre-flight advertising method they have on the TV's... very interesting dancing!! This must have been filmed a while ago if your saw a Thai A300?! Great takeoff sound and I loved the bit when you burst through those threatening clouds!! Stunning approach and nice to hear the captain got a clap even after that bumby landing!! Liked!!
It is a different way that really helps to keep the passengers attention on the pre-flight safety demonstration. Air New Zealand does something a little funnier with the Hobbit theme, watch that here => The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made #airnzhobbit This was actually filmed in June this year 2014 (at Bangkok´s Suvarnabhumi Airport). The approach was very nice indeed with a nice view. The captain was a female pilot (nice to hear) but the landing was indeed hard as you noticed! The clapping and cheering you heard was a Swedish Family happy to be beginning their summer holidays, hehe. Bangkok Airways. Yes it is small but it is the loveliest experience.
The Bangkok Airways staff always seem to be genuinely happy to fly you to their destinations. Even on that short flight to Samui from Bangkok, there's a good snack, cold orange juice and hot coffee.
Our family who are seasoned travellers believe Bangkok Airways is the best in the World for service and kindness and courtesy.
For those of you travelling to Koh Samui for the first time - keep a camera handy for your arrival. The Samui Airport is truly beautiful - it is an amenity in a tropical garden. What a great place in which to arrive.
If you want a beautiful, quiet hotel, with super comfortable beds and big rooms - AND a great price - try the Samui Palm Beach Resort - about 15 minutes from the Airport - it's owned by Bangkok Airways and the fabulous service is continued there.

We always go in June ´/July to Koh Samui - The weather is always good there as the Monsoon only gets there later in the year ;-)
I was so surprised to see Samui Airport it just looks like resort also unique airport. An airport with open spaces to get some fresh air while you wait for your flight to board. I was even more surprised when I saw complimentary snaks were given to economy class passenger. I showed your video my mom was surprised to see this unique kind of airport.

Absolutely superb....just like being on the Flight with you !! I love these videos, brings back memories when we could both fly on Holiday. Strangely enough my Son, Barry Lewis of Myvirginkitchen was advertising a Foodie Competition in Wales , the first advert before video started!! Nice video used bkk airlines in the past but now there flights bkk to samui are so expensive for such a short flight.
We always enjoy flying with this airlines. It is normally automatically booked by our main carrier flying us from Europe to Asia so we do not see the price. Happy to hear that you enjoyed the video :-D

Lovely trip you made..In Thailand I usually just go to Bangkok and then may by Pattaya..have relatives in Bangkok..and teh Thai beach resorts have exploded into Mallorcas..especially Phuket who was pristine and virginal in 1989, one flew on Thai A300 with hot breakfast on porcelain...for 1 hour flight.
We always enjoy our visits to Thailand and our best flight experiences have been onboard Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways :-D
Pilot Yan Hua Hin is the favourite resort of the Thai Royal family no??
We have been to Phuket many times and enjoy being there, have not yet tried Hua Hin, thanks for the tip!

Hi Mylos good to hear from you, its been a while. I have heard that flying between Asian cities is rather cheap but I am not sure. I fly on sunday to this wonderful island. Hope I am be able to enjoy the flight after the 11 hour flight from Frankfurt to Bangkok :)

Thanks YYC, on a scale from 1/10 and considering that we where in Economy Class (and I forgot to mention that before boarding there was snacks and free beverages for all passengers in the terminal before boarding) i give them a BIG 10! Love this airline, looking forward to flying with them again for sure!

With the tourist pressure in Thailand, both this airline, Bangkok airways and Orient Thai has popped up to compete with Thai who has itself has founded Nook air to compete with their own operations. Service is way better than in Europe and staff are friendlier..
European airlines should learn from the Asian ones in our opinion, let´s not budget all the services away...

always try and sit at the other side of the plane, you get great views of the islands when you come in to land on the other side.

You'd traveled on a flight flown by one of Thailand's lady commercial airline captains. On this particular flight her name is Capt. Piyachatra.
We are aware that we travelled with a female captain when she gave us passengers her flight plan briefing! We had a fantastic flight and new we where in good hands :-) Thanks for the information. :-D

What is that smoke like thing in the Cabin when you walk onto the plane ? Just curious what it actually is

As far as we know it is just water vapor, the natural process that happens when the cool ventilation air meets the warm air coming in from outside.
Flight TravelNZ: It is condensation from the air conditioning packs caused by the high temperature & humidity on the ground with the cabin doors open. In other words, it is water vapour/mist. Once the doors are closed, the temperature in the cabin reduces & it will disappear.

Not at all sketchy at any time! This airline is fantastic and provides a wonderful service to all passengers! We very much look forward to flying with them again. We have flown the Koh Samui - Singapore route Koh Samui - Hong Kong and Koh Samui - Bangkok! All flights were good experiences! Enjoy :-D

What does the smoke in the cabin mean?
The smoke is "steam / water vapour" from the air conditioning mixing with the hot air from outside (at least that is what the crew told us).

How much seating
Hi Plamme, according to Seat Guru there are 22 rows in total. Rows 1-3 are Business Class in a 2-2- configuration (6 seats). Rows 4-22 are Economy Class in a 3-3 configuration (114), which makes a total of 120 passenger seats.Thanks for watching, hope this information is useful! :-D
