my old 150w HPS ballast has begun making a laud electric humming noise and doesnt really start up HPS bulb, iam scaring to let it run for longer time, is this just start up noise gone worse or is something seriously wrong?

Surely for anything more powerful than a 150w you need an starter and a capacitor? I used both in a 400w ballast.

Oils on your fingers can cause the bulb to break by heating up unevenly.

@@dartagnan123 Don't use alcohol, just wipe it gently with soft paper like toilet paper or kitchen roll. The same way you would clean the grease off a touchscreen.

Lors du branchement de la douille, pour le fil jaune: qu'est-ce que le petit embout rouge? Est-ce important? est-ce du caoutchouc, du scotch..?

Ça s'appelle une Coss c'est pour permettre a la terre "le fil jaune et vert" d'être en contacte avec la mase pour evaquer le courant de défaut en cas de défaut d'isolement en gros pour pas se prendre une bourre si on touche la car ça se métallique si par malchance la phase et mit accidentellement en contact avec la car ça se métallique :)
