[한영숙류 승무]
국가무형문화재로 지정되어 있는 승무는 그 정신과 구성으로 볼 때, 우리 민족의 역사적 몸짓을 바탕으로 그 골격이 세워졌다고 볼 수 있다. 오래 전부터 민간에서 추어지던 승무는 조선 말 한성준 선생에 의해 독자적인 춤으로 정립되었고, 한국의 대표적 민속춤으로 인정받고 있다. 승무의 ‘승’은 넓은 의미로 나 자신을 포함한 ‘온 중생’이라는 점에서, 결국 대승의 세계를 염원하는 ‘우리 모두의 춤’이 된다.

키가 크기 때문에 더욱 기품이 있습니다
이날 7회차공연에는 모두 실력이 쟁쟁한 분들만
나오신것같은데 그중에서도 김경은님의 승무가
"단연 으뜸"이었습니다
Dr. Kim did a fantastic job! The music and dance are phenomenal. The control over the movement is precise and and work with the sleeves makes each motion appear crisp and clean. It's very beautiful and calming to watch.

I really enjoyed this video. I had never known about this type of dance. I was very interested in learning a new thing, and I respect this type of culture. I really loved the movements of the shirt.
Dr. Kim's dance was extremely captivating. I had never seen a dance quite like this once before, it was both extremely peaceful yet kept the audience engaged. I think the garments influenced by the Buddhist monks add a considerable amount to the dance due to the sleeves exaggerating her movements. Overall the dance was very beautiful.
I really enjoyed learning about this dance. I had never heard of the Seung Mu until today for this assignment. The dance is such a relaxing and calming vibe with drums in the background that really give the dance its flow. This is a dance that is very popular within the culture and holds a special place in some people's hearts.

I enjoyed this dance more than I thought I would. I had no idea what to expect before I saw this, but it exceeded my expectations. I like how culture is portrayed through the dance and the attire. This dance is really relaxing, and I can see why so many people are influenced by this dance.
I've never really been involved in dance in my whole life until this class. Dr. Kim did a great job expressing the dance through movements. The calming movements made me really relaxed watching the video and the outfit with the extra longs sleeves also add another variation of the dance.
Dr. Kim did a fantastic job with her presentation of this dance. I enjoyed how calming, but also intriguing this dance is. The use of drums along with other props adds an extra element to this dance that allows the viewer to stay engaged throughout the entirety of the dance.
It is very enlightening to watch how other cultures use dance to express themselves. We are able to learn about our differences and what makes their certain culture special.

I had no idea what to expect when I got the opportunity to watch this dance. After watching this dance, I am now cultured. The dance itself is amazing! It is a great form of art within the culture. The movements are so thought through and have meaningful purposes. I can see why this dance is so important to the culture and the people of the culture. This dance by Dr. Kim is very interesting. I love this Seung Mu dance that is portrayed in the video, but what I love more is the clothing. The robe and clothing that Dr. Kim is wearing is very unique.
The more I watch this dance, the more intrigued I become. I had never heard of this type of dancing before Dr. Kim- my
professor at Mississippi State University- showed it to me. Watching her dance is addictive. The movements are so precise and elegant. There are so many emotions with her movements, but her face remains so solemn and calm. Even with my little knowledge of this cultural dance, I am astonished at how beautiful it was.

This performance by my professor, Dr. Kim, was amazing. It was absolutely beautiful and incorporated a lot of very technical dance methods. Pure talent!
This dance is a beautiful display of dancing! Dr. Kim, my professor at Mississippi State University, is a very gifted dancer as seen in this video. I had not know of this dance until now, but now I can inform my friends of the Seung Mu. I enjoyed the way the sleeves of the robe moved quickly upward but fell down with grace.

Beautiful performance! I loved the sharp accents followed by flowy movements. This really accentuated the rhythms and expressed emotion. I also loved seeing culture come to life through costuming and all the unique instruments.
Dr. Kim seems to not only be an amazing professor at my university but also an incredibly talented dancer as well. The dance is like a display of emotion in her swift movements that go along with the music. Furthermore it is a beautiful display to the traditional Korean culture.

This dance was so inspiring to me. Seeing my professor do this really increased myt curiosity in different kinds of dance. I had never seen this style of dance before and I enjoyed how slow and smooth she was able to move during the performance.

I love this dance! The moves are strategic and each one clearly has a purpose, but it never comes across as robotic or boring. Each move is graceful, eye-catching, and highlighted by the impressive control over the sleeves that Dr. Kim Kyungeun displayed. I especially liked the way that the movements incorporated the drum. I'll have to do more research on this dance to understand the purpose and symbolism of every movement, but it was a joy to watch!
The lines drawn by Dr. Kim Kyungeun was very intriguing. I learned that the major folk dance in the country, Seung Mu, displays lines that are curvy and powerful. I thought that Dr. Kyungeun’s talent is shown with passion and emotion through the deep and restrained movements.
I loved the dress worn by the dancer it went really well with the graceful windmill motions made throughout the performance. The moves she does are very controlled and look almost as if she is levitating throughout a few moments in the routine. I have never seen a dance routine like this and I really enjoyed watching this style of dance performed so well!
What a wonderful performance! The gesticulation really conveys the emotion this dance portrays. The serene music is perfectly paired with the dance itself and genuinely transcends my soul, it really takes the performance to the next level.
