The sensitivity is breath-taking. All that love. All that experience. And the lack of ego. The music just speaks.
That's pure gold. Great musicians being just servants to music, no ego, just love and respect, and a breathtaking sensitivity, good taste, and perfect mutual understanding.
RIP, Márta, and thanks so much you both for this amazing beauty and lesson.
R.I.P., Marta. And ad multos annos, György! So beautiful.
Watched this video about 50 times now and I just about hold it together until the Sonatina and then the tears flow. Everything about this is beautiful and good. Thank you :)
Das zählt zu den Höhepunkten, die ich erleben durfte, vielen Dank für dieses übergroße Geschenk!
Man and woman grown together like two strong branches. Their co existence is beautiful. Mastery cooperation isolated from the outside, taken out from every context, leaving just these two bothered with the music as if this what they will do until they pass. God bless and people adore them.🙏👍
Not only great professionals but they both are so cute and lovable… I just melt…❤
I heard them live in 2011 playing Bach transcriptions and other music by Kurtág. One of the best concerts I have ever attended.
So sweet. I wish that I could have this too when I am older.
You probably don't know who is playing this piano darling :-)
wololo
@@Pyotroosh76 Please try to be less of a condescending pr*ck.
Elképesztő felvétel! Egyszerűen gyönyörű ez a két ember!
Absolutely divine, wonderful, an inspiration to all musicians.
Such beautiful human beings. Two masters! What a gift! Thank you so much!
There is so much to love about this, as Rainer Langlotz outlines below. It just made me feel like time stood still and all the cares of this world melted away (writing this on Jan 14, 2021). Thank you Kurtags for this lovely video.
Wonderful, the power of music, gives you strength and love till the end of your days.
Beautiful. I love how plainly the room is decorated, too, with not even a visible microphone. Such humility and musicianship. Luminous.
A wonderful sense of beauty, love and concentration
How amazing that these two are able to play music at their age at all, let alone a Bach piece transcribed as a duet! This is what love looks like after 60+ years, when it's done well.
God, they're not 100. This is normal for advanced musicians. They are nowhere near in the grave here.
@@organboi I'd say 89 is close enough!
And BWV 106 written about 1707. This is what love and more tell us from over 300yrs ago.
Спасибо, очень-очень понравилось. Слушали и замирали.
Бах всегда с нами говорит ....на простом языке и понятными интонациями
Спасибо ....
0:16 - Das alte Jahr vergangen ist BWV 614
2:26 - Duette in G-Dur BWV 804

What a delight. Beautiful transcriptions. Thank you for posting EditioMusicaBudapest.
Admirable! What a nice performence, what a nice couple 🙏
This goes for me above all the award-winning records. And it’s the audiovisual dimension that brings the understanding of their absolute unity and love.
Thank you for keeping this transformative moment alive and accessible.
Sublime. (RIP Márta Kurtág)
It's 3:13 am in Monterrey, Mexico where I am, and as I listen to the Sonatina from Cantata 106, my tears slowly flow. Thank you.
@vilhelmhammershoi3871 --- De acuerdisimo......desde Acapulco!
@@steveegallo3384 Qué cosa tan hermosa, verdad?
@@vilhelmhammershoi3871 -- Sobrepasa por mucho todas esperanzes. I passed through Monterrey in 1986...Tren pasajero-dormatorio...desde Nuevo Lareda (7 PM) hasta San Miguel de Allende (12 Noon).....Saludos!
Farewell Màrta. May Gyòrgy find solace in the beauty they have created.
Their playing is lovely, such a gentle touch.
Beau Duo , en accord . Quel Talent !! Merci de Partager . Bonjour .
Beautiful, and Kurtag's own music is very surreal and expressive in other aesthetics, which makes a lovely contrast with this video
Ohhhhh Age means nothing. This is melody of love ❤️
Absolutely beautiful and touching. Thank you.
Intimacy - personal and musical - sensitivity, and sublime piano playing!
This is how to express true love as musicians.
I remember having seen here n YT Márta and György Kurtág playing the entire cycle of his transcriptions. But I do not find it anymore.
Soo amazing and enchanting... this is love in an another dimension
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Unglaublich schön!
I think it's pointless to talk about musical techniques here.
I just put my hands on my knees and listen quietly.
Apparently it is their clear intention that they play these music so softly. It's not because of fraility or anything like that.
Tremendous musical intelligence behind this performance.
Finalmente un po' di musica non commerciale
Touching to the point of tears.
Danish Radio has just broadcasted a program about The Holy Spirit. It was an interview wt a very learned priest and the priest was asked to choose a melody to the program. He chose this version of Bachs 'Gottes Zeit'.
Not a bad choice!
And there are some toxic people who doesn't have any values in there life and judged them and disliked the video. But we could ignore them and listen and love them as much as we want.
It doesn't get much better than this.
Magnifique...
Great music played on a teriffic piano... wonderfull!
Simplicity is indescribable.
Bellissimo, grazie!
Que belleza, cuanta sensibilidad 👏👏👏👏
Absolutely Wonderful!
Great music, God be thanked.
"... especially to obtain a cantable way of playing (key instruments) ...", said BACH in the preface to his inventions. I don´t believe it is possible to play more cantabile on an old upright piano than what can be heard here. More important: There is no Ego neither in the transcription nor in the execution. All servanthood to the greatest Composer. Soli Deo Gloria became reality.
Everything you write is to the point. Two souls singing....
Completely agree... No more to say, just listen once and again.
This is marvelous. 정말 아름답네요.
RIP Marta !
Very touching, passed the acid test, made me cry..
Absolutely sublime...
Magnífica interpretación!!!👏👏
C'est tellement juste et touchant !

Love ....
so deep. love
Nothing else can be love.
2:16 György: No! It's too many trills, Márta! ❤
Perfect music for Easter, apotheosis of the upright piano.
Magical
Sublime~
Fabulous!! xo :-)
The performers on this recording are 88 and 89 years old (!!), but they not only could still play, but also preserved the European culture of music-making, sound production, phrasing, and expressiveness.
Márta Kutrag is no longer alive, and György Kurtág is 98 years old (!!) and has just been awarded the Ricardo Wolf Prize for Music, awarded by the Israeli Ricardo Wolf Foundation.
I'll stay with Bach, although this is the best I have heard from the old master...
Simply wonderful. Can I purchase the Bach transcriptions sheet music
Very nice!
Marta expression at 1:00 is funny and cute
❤️❤️🙏🙌
Wow!
Grüße an Armin Thurnher, dessen Seuchenkolumne mich hergebracht hat
amazing
Belleza trascendental!
Consulto: se pueden adquirir las transcripciones para cuatro manos de G Kurtag? Gracias por la info.
Bellos
90 anni lei e 90 lui eccezionali
Zo prachtig en met wat een overgave gespeeld.
bravo maestros!!!!
Moises Menendez Bravi Maestri☺️
Strepitosi! Stupendissimi! Perfetti!
Romantic
Nice speed on the 614. Too many pianists race through Bach transcriptions, and are too loud.
There is nothing more beautiful than seeing soulmates creating music together. The piano has a lovely tone. What make is it?
meravigliosi
He was born a few months before the late Queen Elizabeth II, so would have been almost 90 here.
