  • Surface Lure success for Bass this week as i decide to stop fishing and come back two hours later. It paid off as we manage some Bass from the Shore.
    Lure fishing at night can throw up some excellent catches and at the very least improve our chances.
    In this episode we discuss the Pros and cons of fishing with no light.
    We test a number of different Lures we varying luck !
    Lure fishing at night can be tricky and there is not normally a need to thrash those lures through the water. Bait fish are slower at night , sometimes barely moving and we should do the same with our Lures.

    Fantastic session, Matt, some stunning bass, by 'eck, they are a beautiful fish!
    Not sure if you'll remember, but I was applying for a peach of a job in Cornwall, hoping to relocate from Warwickshire, about as far from sea bass as a man can be!
    The boys only gone and got the job! Just in the process of sorting a house, and boom, we'll be needing to learn a new language, Cornish! We are all really excited, let the adventure begin!

    great session. done exactly the same years ago when I lived in Salcombe. used to have plenty of dead days with bait, but then go back on the evening and chuck a lure out on light tackle and pull a dozen or so in .......not every time, but evenings like the one in the video almost always produced...especially around Slapton or on the rocks around Snapes point or Splat cove......happy days.

    Another great video thanks Matt. Some useful tips on using surface lures. Have you tried the SG panic prey lures? Be interested to know your thoughts? I never target Bass, as I usually assume the marks I can get to won't have Bass around, but thought I'd try a Panic Prey one evening and caught a Schoolie 1st cast! Best regards, stay safe & well, Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍

    • @SaltwaterAngler

    There’s only one problem with surface lures, they’re so addictive, hate changing to anything else! Actually two problems, gulls.

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ha ! Yep 👍 always start with them because you can always say you have them a chance. Immature herring gulls are the problem it’s fun to just wait for the gulls to dive then fast drag . Catch no gulls but might entice a bass

  • @i1bike
    @i1bike 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In croatia you always catch with surface lure. There is no day without action. The only difference is that we croatians catch seagulls instead of seabass

      @@SaltwaterAngler Ah, yeah. Thanks. I think I’m sticking to rigidly to my old ways I was taught (wrongly) that the spring tides were worth fishing but not the neaps, for some reason. 🤷🏼‍♂️
      I’m over thinking it.
      Had a great evening 2nd Sept - caught a dozen- several over 42cm but only took one. I think I’ll just try whenever I get the time and not worry too much about, tides, tide-coefficient, moon etc.etc.

    is there any way you can set the camera to just keep filming over 3 or 4 hours so you can capture the whole session? I imagine it must be a pain to have to switch it on every time you get a hookup and you're missing that initial moment
