I just introduced my baby brother to DE shaving. Gave him a Gillette slim adjustable and some Stirling soap and he really has enjoyed it so far. He's been most appreciative for the introduction.
Great shave. I'm glad your son changed his mind on wet shaving and I hope he enjoys it just like you enjoy it. When I do visit the UK, if I have time, I could visit Scotland. Have a great day
11:27 I hope you'll get 100+ years old! My relatives all died through cancer and since I'm drinking too much and especially weight too much it'll get me, too sooner or later. I admire you resigning alcohol and staying healthy for your family. I hope it will help you with all of my heart!
Great shave Ken!!! My Sunday so far has been super busy with gardening, smoking food for the family, and repairing old gutters on the house. I've used the Bevel razor, and it's a good razor, and the blades are nice as well. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Cheers!!!
😂 just like a son to listen to strangers more than his dad. But I’m glad he’s may be opening up to wet shaving. And I think he looks more like Chris Bauer the actor who played “machine” in the Nick Cage movie 8mm. He also played the Irish mob boss in the excellent (but only one season) tv show “The Black Donnellys”.
Hello Ken. Nice shave. My wife and I watched your son's shave. Glad he was able to have a second try and all went well. But, I agree with the banging and cringing every time he hit it on the counter. LOL Well, I have a 34 year old that was on home for leave and I was able to show him a video or two. I might have him converted to at least the soaps and creams for shaving. And a child listening to their parents? Come on. HA HA Have a good one.
Great shave Brother ! That’s cool that your son has taken a interest in wetshaving. Definitely some good bonding time to be spent in the shave den . My grandfather is 86 years old and has been watching my TH-cam channel so much that he asked me to give him a shave ...it was an honor for me that he would even ask 👍🏻💈👍🏻
It was great seeing him! He seems a nice guy. Perhaps he'll "listen" to the comments and ask you for some tips. It would be cool to take him to a shave meet or two; he might just catch the bug! Nice shave, Ken. I have a RazoRock KEYHOLE Plissoft 22mm brush and it's my daily driver. I have an Ever-Ready coming from eBay that I'll restore using your videos. I'll put in a synthetic knot in it. I'll let you know how it turns out! Have a great week!!
Always a pleasure Ken. Been catching up on your vids today. Watched your sons shave and he might not have done things the way you would've, but he used that sharp ass blade like a boss! I believe he could shave with a butcher knife and be fine, LOL...
Great shave, Ken. Glad your R41 survived. I like the shave that the Bevel gives me. The only drawback for me is the pencil thin handle. I've resorted to changing out the handle for one I find comfortable to use. Looking forward to the Grandfather tribute shave. Have a great and safe week.
Ken, I’m going to Scotland next year to visit ancestral homeland. Going to Gents Groom Room n drop a pkg for Kevy. If I can pickupsomething from Scotland let me know.
See, I learned how to shave with a DE razor with your videos, Ken. Your son might learn too by simply watching, even if you don’t teach him in person. By the way, great video today as always!
Great video Ken, and thanks for your previous reference to your watch collection. For us watch guys, could you please add a quick watch check of what you're wearing for each shave? I'm looking forward to your Grandfather's tribute shave. Like you my grandfather served in a Scottish Division, the 51st, and he was lucky to survive WW1. We latter generations have had it easy, compared to those who served in WW1.
Ken, ever tried inversion therapy? I have a bit of letter back trouble and I haven't had any issues since trying it out. I basically just do it when I go to the gym every day before my workout I lay on a decline bench and let the spine relax and stretch out.
My oldest boy is 31 now and I got him into wet shaving last year. I bought him the bevel razor and he loves it, he was in the dollar club but no more!! The other two didn’t like it but he says he’s a lifer !!
Love that burn brother😊 Maybe I missed an important part of your son's cameo shave, I never saw him apply any preshave, cream or soap. It looked like he just used water but I could be wrong🤔 PAA soaps and splashes work great for me, Douglas is a great perfumer👌 Nice shave💈💈and video Ken. Enjoy!
I got the Bevel because you recommended it in a past video. Have been using it with their supplied razors and enjoy how it shaves. Only drawback would be that once I get the handle wet, it can get slippery to hold especially if I get any shaving cream / soap on it just like you noted. Thanks for the recommendation!
First...so glad that blade worked out. To be honest I'm pleasantly surprised, I thought it was gonna be rough. And yes I'm watching this with my girlfriend. Happy Sunday my friend, as always nice job.
Honestly even if your son doesn't pick up de shaving. The good thing is that he shaves. It's still do something to bond over! Great shave today. The bevel system has an Indian replica called Bombay shave. It's on Amazon for a fraction of the price of the bevel
Hey Ken! I just received my first order from PAA. I’m in love. I got Harvest Moon, Boomtown Bay Rum, and Home On The Range. I also got sample aftershave of same. I just used Harvest Moon and it is incredible. Highly recommend.
Kensurfs Hey Ken. Just got around to using the Home on The Range soap from PAA. I really do not like the scent. I was going to throw it away, but figured I’d ask if you’d want it or would want to trade. I used it for one, 2 pass shave. So barely any was used.
Great shave and video Ken. Yeah just get him to use a proper shave soap and brush with his Dollar Shave Club razor. That alone will be a huge improvement and it will be a much more comfortable shave for him. Another couple of razors he would enjoy would be the Marvel DE which is extremely comfortable and easy to use and the Leaf. I'm more than confident that he will enjoy the leaf considering that it works like a cartridge razor does.
I see you used a synthetic brush for this shave. I have a Yaqi synthetic and I sometimes wonder why I paid all that money for a badger hair brush. The Yaqui is wonderfully soft
The Bic blade probaly just will not work for you no matter the razor but there are so many variables in wet shaving.I still want to see the Techmatic in action. Thanks Ken,tell your son if he wants to join our wet shaving Family,we welcome him 100%👍
Great shave as always. Let me ask something if you don't mind. Why don't you rinse between passes? A little bit of water helps to up the slickness from the soaps, maybe you give it a try. Keep trying to see all of your videos. Cheers
Hey Ken I've had my shave for today used extro pirata soap. Clubman whisky woods aftershave and my trusted Parker variant and derby blade along with my wildwestbrushworks brush. Respects from the UK ken. 🇬🇧♥️
Octane is for petrol in cars. "Locks-ee-tann" is the brush. ("The westerner", the one from the west, or - as here: the one form the French Occitane province)
Great shave, Ken! Hope your back feels better. I just purchased a 1962 Gillette slim adjustable from ebay. I've been using a Merkur 34C the past few months and wanted to try something different. It needs a cleaning first though. Is it ok to soak it in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for a few minutes after I scrub it up with dish soap?
Thanks for the videos Ken. The video of your son was funny and I was laughing my ass off as he was bashing that R41 into the sink! I bet you’ll have fun ribbing him about that for a while! I think that some hair implants would really help his self esteem, or go the other way and shave it all off. I don’t mean any offense by that whatsoever btw. Keep up the good work!
My sister has been in haircare for 40 years has always said men get their hair loss from the mother's side of the family. My brother and I sure did. Is/was your father in law balding? DE shaving could be a good chance to bond with your boy! Wish you both health and happiness.

My brother and I both lost our hair before our father. My dad is almost 70 and this dude has a full set of hair and his hair doesn’t look thin or showing any signs of balding
Kensurfs, let your son know, that I started balding at the age of 21, and 20 years later I am running on 25% and my old man is 70 with a full head. He never gets bored of ribbing me about it. Embrace the baldness, own it and shave the head!
Tell him to keep away from Dollar Tree blades. I am very willing to agree that they are subpar, despite my lack of reference. That said though, I am amazed at how much better my shave was! I shave about once or twice a week, and all this time, I thought it was just my beard growing in thick, and it was just a literal face full of ingrown hairs. Van Der Hagen, here I come!
I've been getting conflicting reviews. Some are saying that the blades are serviceable ( sharp, but only gives a couple of shaves) some say they are garbage, and others swear by them.
It's problematic "telling" another person how well something will work...This said, "I could have told ya"....Bevel Blades are exceptionally good in any razor not just the Bevel Shave System Razor...I still think the razor is more aggressive than Tristan Johnson(the founder of the Bevel Company for those who do not know) indicates and will bite in a heartbeat. As for your son, Offspring often if not typically discount what their Sires say/think/advocate but in the wet shaving world he might go down a "rabbit hole" if he listens too much to some of those viewers might say....They are not the most enlightened/tolerant crowd....(in my opinion).
