- History always walks with us like a shadow, the ignorance towards it leads us to forget our own identity. Zafar Mahal is one of the shadows, built by Akbar Shah - ii in the 18th century and later the entrance gate was reconstructed by the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. Currently, this monument going through its worst phase and now it's high time to preserve and give life to these behind the wall stories.

Very pathetic and unfortunate that ASI is keeping its eyes closed on this heritage site. Restoration and conservation is utmost important to keep our heritage buildings alive for the future generation. Also listed in the sight seeing list. Encroachments needs to be removed on priority.

Most of Our ancient monuments R Very poorly maintained, They R Beautiful But in Very bad condition.
Government should spend some money for there maintenance, This monuments can be Great tourist attractions and It benefit Our country As well.

Rana Safvi and Arif Sir all your ideas are wonderful - hope, they will translate into some meaningful results. I can understand your pain - just watching this coverage, it broke my heart. Why can't the ASI change their illogical law that old monuments cannot be restored to their past glory (obviously to the best of present day capabilities)?
Most of these places, if promoted, can become tourist spots for foreigners. And a source of income for the poor economy of India.
