I did that at first too, but then I realized it’s just because I was keeping the flat iron in the same spot for too long, cause I was too busy thinking if I was doing it wrong. You just gotta put your piece of hair on it, twist, and continue going down the piece. It should only take like a minute to glide down the piece

GIRLS. the secret is to straighten the piece of hair first, THEN Grab the hair, make sure it's not twisted in the flat iron. THEN curl away from your face and keep twisting the flat iron all the way down! It took me forever to figure out what was best for my hair. But remember no ones hair is the same. Practice makes perfect !

Straightening the section first is great for thick frizzy hair, but will make for curls without volume if you have finer or thin hair.

For people who are struggling:
-make sure your iron is hot
- make sure your hair is already straightened if you don’t have naturally straight hair
-make sure you ARE curling away from your head
-start at the very top of the hair
- depends on the hair type, it might take multiple times to get the curls (I had to do each 2x

you taught this process SO very well!!! You gave detailed instructions and it was so helpful. for example: you gave the 350 degree angle and to leave the tail out plus to wiggle it if it's stuck...as basic as this sounds, I am very impressed with the details you gave. Don’t try to curl the same piece of hair if it’s still hot.....IT WONT CURL. Leave it to go completely cold.....move on to another section.....and come back to do the first piece when it’s completely cooled down.

I miss my old thick hair😒 it thinned out because of vitamin d and iron defiecency, I have also recovered from Anorexia ( with therapy and support) it gets greasy faster, I normally wash it two times a week. It is really dry and brittle and breaking off so I can’t really use heat anymore.
When I curled/straightened my hair before I used to blowdry it upside down, use texture spray and heat protectant. After curling I teased it a little bit and added hairspray first and then when I was done with all of my hair I added salt spray (it looks like natural curls). Use dry shampoo before going to sleep if you have normal or oily scalp

+sakshi thakur My friend has the same problem! Her mother is a hair dresser and has NEVER been able to get her hair to hold a curl. Yesterday, we went to a local mall and at one of the Kiosk there was a group of people selling hair straightener's. They asked if they could fix our hair and we said sure. They wanted to curl my friend's and we told them how it never holds curl. They said, "Challenge Accepted." I watched them curl her hair with the New Evolution Straightener and also was witness to the curls holding the ENTIRE day. Needless to say, we both walked out of the mall with new straighteners!! SO worth the money. You should look into them~~

it helps to have natural Curls
Sakshi, you may like to pin your curls up while they cool (twist the curled piece of hair around your finger until you can slide your finger out of the twirled hair, and pin to your head with a Bobbi pin or little curling clip). I could do a tutorial on this if it helps.

@@margjeburen3850 It does depend on how think your hair is, I have thicker hair, or rather I lot of hair (think Hermione or Hagrid) I held it for a few seconds before slowly sliding down. Test it out in strands and hold longer with each one, once you get a result you like don't hold longer than that and you should be set!
@ZeXoV YT It does stay for the entire day and it stayed for for some of the next day as well, I do think hair texture plays a part (mine texture is think Hagrid, medium thickness but a lot of strands) test out howling to hold it for by holding it for a few seconds and then longer each time you try it until you get a result you like. If you have curly hair I recommend blow drying it while brushing it straight to help, that's what I had to do so my hair wouldn't tangle. Hope it works for you!

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your blog. You made it easy for our "not so professional," hair stylists out there. Throughout my entire life until I reached my late 20's I had corkscrew curly hair. I would flat iron it a lot, constantly get it highlighted. And I gave up on the expense of highlighting. After the 17 years that it took me to grow my hair back out to its natural color. My hair was in a state of, "I'm not going to be curly for you," and no matter what high end products you use, I'm not going to stay straight for you either. I started getting the brazilian blow out treatments, apparently on a two frequent basis,,,as you saif above that the hair around the face is much more sensitive. Ladies, PLEASE BE CAREFUL when it comes to Brazilian blow outs. Make sure that your stylist is thoroughly trained and ask what items they are and google them yourself before going through it. Trust me...it IS WORTH THE MONEY...but only if you do it in the correct way. The entire front part of my hair, as if you were to pick it up from side to side is broken. MY REAL COMMENT...is thank you for this tutorial! It was quick easy, and it ended up looking beautiful! Thank, and the wand have been the only items...out of countless curling irons, on seen T.V. items that I have tried that have actually worked. It's much easier then the wand. And the results don't make me looking like I'm going to prom! I can't wait to check out your channel

+Kim Anne - same here. Whatever I do, it just pops right back into its natural shape. I've had 2 hairdressers just give up trying to re-model my hair into anything and suggest I just cut it to go with "how it naturally wants to be".
+Kim Anne Try the hot rollers. I have been using the same for over 30 years. Just put them in your hair and go about your business until they cool and and take them out.

What I’ve always done is I took an old makeup brush and curled my hair around it, then I ran the straightener up and down for a few seconds and then I got a curl. The amount of hair and the size of the brush controls what size the curl is. 👌🏻
Edit: I forgot to say it can ruin the brush. Use a brush you don’t care too much for. I don’t know if it can damage your hair but it didn’t damage mine more than a straightener usually does. Please be very careful. I don’t know if the brush material affects it either. You can also use other objects as long as it’s heat safe. Experiment but be safe.

The reason it does this is because you might leave the straightening iron on a section of your hair for a long time
The heat may be to high on your flat iron and you may need to loosen your grip.
You might not have a round barell
Either you left it on too long or you don't have a rounded barrel straightener
